As I was reading City of Lost Souls I came to the conclusion that has been building since City of Fallen Angels, the book series should have ended at book three. I really fell in love with this world of vampires, angels, demons, faries and etc. Its like a supernatural fans' porn shop (i kid lol). I realized towards the middle of CoFA around when Jace went missing, that Clare was stressing and stretching the tale way too far. Dont get me wrong, I still love the first three books BUT CoLA made me dislike Clary and Jace even more as characters.

As I went to finish CoFA I was hoping to read into another era, century and dive into the minds of new characters in Clockwork Prince . I was clearly disappointed, again, with Clare. I found that Tessa and Clary, and Will and Jace were nearly the same characters...just in a different place and time. THANKFULLY Clare gave a sense of mystery to Tessa"s "race" and gave her a special ability nothing like Clary's. ID were unique in a way with the characters such as Jem with his gentle, kind, and sweet personality. With word of his illness made readers, like me, fall in love with him and the idea of having that type of guy in a gals life. Although I was grateful for this aspect of the story...it truly angered my that Tessa, willingly ignored her heart, went on to possibly breaking one of the best of Clare's characters heart.

I COMPLETELY agree about TMI needing to end after CoG. I plan on finishing the second cycle, but really, the second cycle has been a bit of disappointment. Hate saying it, because I adore TMI so much, but the second cycle is weak. The romance is overdone for ALL pairings and the story is just very stretched in comparison to the brilliance of the first three books.

As for TID, I would have to disagree. I think those books are amazing and they leave me still putting my faith in Clare. I LOVED CP, I couldn't put it down. I used to think that Tessa and Clary and Will and Jace were all the same, but I think they became more fleshed out in CP and now I see definite differences, but I see where you're coming from. I love Jem too so I could see why you'd be so upset about the end of CP. The only thing that worries me is that I believe Clare is going to kill of Jem in book 3. It's not so much that that will upset me (which it will) but more that it'll be an easy, predictable way to solve Tessa's love triangle issue.

Mila I also agree about TMI. The second cycle was unnecessary and disappointing, and now that I've heard about the other cycle she's going to write, I don't even know if I'm going to read it... I guess it depends on how this cycle ends. I haven't even read CoLS because I'm sure I'll be disappointed. I feel like Clare just thought of this random story plot to add to the first three books and this is the result...

But for TID, I agree with Jen, because I LOVE THEM. I didn't think I would after CoFA, but I like Tessa SO MUCH more then Clary, and I think the relationship between Will and Jem add another layer to an already great story. I can't wait for the final book to come out. I like TID characters a lot more then what I've been seeing in the second cycle of TMI. And I also thought Clare would kill off Jem, and if she does, then I don't think Will will ever be with Tessa (which I want). I also got the idea that Will would somehow sacrifice himself for Jem (just like what happened in Tale of Two Cities)... I don't know, anything could happen, which is what I love. TMI is now kind of predictable.

I've read CoLS and I can tell you now that it's much better than CoFA, but still a let down. I might read her new series because it's totally different from TMI. Also it takes place in LA, which I love ;). Anyway I still have faith in Clare because of TID, but I wouldn't be surprised if the new series fails. We'll just have to wait in see.
