February Challenge has officially started!
So far we have 12 participants who have submitted their lists.

LondonGirl
DarkHeart
Tammy

Kenjii
Angie(US)
Angie(UK)
Lady Ozma
Jael
Good luck, ladies and enjoy reading!
Signing up will remain open throughout the month.
P.S. A few changes in tracking our progress. Before, what we do is go back and edit our original list. However, as the thread gets longer and longer, I'm having difficulty wading through the discussion.
So, please, repost your official list with your progrss after every update I make. That will really make my job easy, because I will just start from the last update to see where everybody is in their reading.
Hope that makes sense..LOL
Next update will be February 6.

9 Author's New to Me:
1.
2. Emma Bull - War For The Oaks
3.
4. J.R. Ward - Dark Lover
5. Nalini Singh - Slave to Sensation
6. Mark Del Franco - Unshapely Things
7. Jocelynn Drake - Nightwalker
8. J.F. Lewis - Staked
9. Angie Fox - The Accidental Demon Slayer
Welcome, Melissa. I'm actually on a self-imposed ban from the library until I finish reading all my challenge books...LOL

Melissa I just finished Pleasure Unbound and it was sooo good, I totally want to read more by her.

1. Vulnerable The First Book of the Little Goddess Series - Amy Lane
2. Blood Memories - Barb Hendee
3. Marked - P.C. Cast
4.
5.
6. When Darkness Comes - Alexandra Ivy
7. Greywalker - Kat Richardson
8. Working for the Devil - Lilith Saintcrow
9. The Becoming - Jeanne C. Stein
Day 1, book 1 is now finished.
The Shaman Sings by James D. Doss--a little slow starting and the mystery was a little sloppy. LOVED Daisy--the Shaman in the title. Still, the first book in a series always seems to be a little slow, and sometimes sloppy. I have more books in this series to read, but will wait til I crank out another new author.

1. Dark Lover by JR Ward
2. Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur
I will be adding mine as I read them too Sarah--that's what I did with the previous challange also. That way, I'm not tied into a specific book. So I can change my mind if I find a new book that I want to read instead of one that I already have.
That's cool, guys. If you can number them with an a finished reading date, or a strike out, that will be very helpful when I do an update.
Just sort of separate them from the paragraph or discussion text, so when I scroll down, I can easily see them.
Thanks.

I'm nearly done with book 1! :) Yay! Hope everyone else is doing well in their reading!

Witchling - Yasmine Galenorn
Working For the Devil - Lilith StCrow
Pleasure Unbound - Larissa Ione
These next two I started and never actually got farther than the first couple of chapters due to being distracted by someone else with something else I was told I had to read NOW...lol, so I'm going to put them here, as these are the first of theirs I ever started to read and I didn't really get them going, and I really want to:
The Darkest Pleasure - Gena Showalter
Nicholas: The Lords of Satyr - Elizabeth Amber
hmmm... that's 5... I need four more...
Vampire Academy - Richelle Mead
The House Next Door - Richie Tankersley Cusick - if I can find it...lol...a friend just told me to get it
La Vida Vampire - Nancy Haddock
Club Vamp - Allyson James
and as a backup if I can't find that one, the first Charlaine Harris Southern Vampire book will take it's place. :)

Okay, I totally read this entire book yesterday in (almost) one sitting. I only stopped when it was like, 6:00 and I realized I needed food and a shower. :)
Holy craprockets! I had to make up a whole new word to describe that book. I think I singed my fingers, it was so hot.
But the answer is yes, I liked it a lot and now am wanting to read other stuff by that author. :)
So one down for the challenge! Wahoo!

Yay for the great start people seem to be having!

Too funny Nichole. I'm glad you liked it. It is definitely different and probably not everyone's cuppa. It is very hot but I also loved that the story was so interesting. I think Sci-Fi erotica is my new favorite genre.

1. Patricia Briggs - Cry Wolf
2. Andrew Davidson - the Gargoyle
3. Carlos Ruiz Zafron - Shadow of the Wind
4. CT Adams - Touch of Evil
5. J.R. Ward - Dark Lover
6. Deidre Knight - Red Fire
7. Kresley Cole - A Hunger Like No Other
8. Alexandra Ivy - When Darkness Comes
9. Jacquelyn Frank - Jacob

one for the slush pile--
Well, I tried--for almost 5 hours--to plow my way through book 2 yesterday. But it just did NOT hold my attention. Not sure why, but I got as far as page 35. And that was it. I was really disappointed, as this was an SFX Magazine's "Best Book of the Year" winner. I'm just giving up on it and will try a different book in my tbr pile.
Oh--title of book was "The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the apocalypse" by RObert Rankin
Day 2 down--and no book to add to my list. :o(

LOL, I haven't read any Rankin, but I think my husband owns them all and quite likes him. But hey, there's definitely no point wasting time on books you're not enjoying. Life's too short and there are too many good books out there that you could be reading. =)

I haven't finished my second book either. I can't get into it. But I did spend the bulk of yesterday in my kitchen busy making freezer meals. So it wasn't like I really tried. I'm trying to do it now.
Anyone read Patricia Cornwell? I'm just sick of hearing how this DA is a brat. LOL
And people wonder why I prefer sci/fi and fantasy. Right about now someone should pop up with a broadsword and whack the horribly bratty DA's head off or something. LOL

Thank you for the suggestion DarkHeart. :) I'll look into that and see if I can find it.
I felt like it was actually written for someone about 12 or 13 years old. I'm not sure my 10 and 12 year old grandsons wouldn't think this was a little below THEIR reading levels.
The weird thing is--I usually LIKE this kind of book. Not sure what's up with this one. I might try it again later this month--maybe I'll be able to read it then.
On the other hand--
Book 2 is Cruising for Murder by Susan Sussman.
A problem for book 3 is--I've gotten in TWO books in series that I really enjoy that I'm trying to NOT read til I get at least 1 or 2 more of this month's challenge out of the way. And we are short 2 days for February. That's the problem with a 28 day month.

I'm about 1/4 of the way through Vampire Academy now though and am enjoying it so far.

Angie, I can feel ya. If I've got a good book I'm working on, I'd hate to go start another!

1. Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison
2.
3. Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews
4. A Girl's Guide to Vampires by Katie MacAlister
5. Kitty and the Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn
6. Neuromancer by William Gibson
7. The Vampire's Kiss by Raven Hart
8. Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu
9. Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

Darkheart, I have book 2 but am trying to read another of the books from my list instead of going on. Most of the books on my list are the first of series and I figured it would be hard to get through the month without getting hooked into a series lol.

Yeah, I've had Succubus Blues for a month or so, but haven't gotten around to reading it. I will definitely have to try it out soon though. But yes, I knew I'd get hooked on some of these books and want to carry on with the series. I'm so weak. LOL Thankfully, although I enjoyed my second book of the challenge, the next book in the series isn't out until next month. =)

I have, however, read one PNR romance this month already, though it's not a new-to-me author. I'm going to list it anyway. It's the first book I read on my brand spanking new navy blue Sony e-Reader. And I have one in my bag I want to read that is a new author to me. That will be #2.
1. Lynn Viehl's STAY THE NIGHT
2. MY IMMORTAL PROTECTOR by Jen Holling (currently reading)
I think I have SABRIEL by Garth Nix on my TBR challenge list, and I've never read any of his books, so... Maybe I'll get to it this month.

Done for February:
Tall Dark and Dead by Tate Hallaway - OMG I LOVED IT!
No, wait, I hated it. I have the next two on my shelf and I want to read them so bad and I'm doing this darn challenge! HAHA ;)
The Front by Patricia Cornwell - Urgh, what a struggle. I think it needed more story. Especially with the witchy grandma. It left me wanting.
Next in my line up: The Vampire of Venice Beach by Jennifer Colt. I'm on chapter two and loving it! Even if it would appear to not be real vamps. HEHE
So two down, seven more to go!

1. Vulnerable The First Book of the Little Goddess Series - Amy Lane
2. Blood Memories - Barb Hendee
3. Marked - P.C. Cast
4.
5.
6. When Darkness Comes - Alexandra Ivy
7. Greywalker - Kat Richardson
8. Working for the Devil - Lilith Saintcrow
9.

(Man I think I need these vamp academy books!)
(kneeling and asking for absolution) Forgive me father for I have sinned--I read book 4 of my Mercy THompson series yesterday (I've been WAITING for that to get here, and just could not resist it. Hey, Adam and Samuel twisted my arms--who can resist such yummy Alpha were-wolves?) But I am being stern with myself today and reading a new author. Sigh, but its book 1 of a series. Rats, rats, rats, I can already tell I'm going to want to read the REST of the series right away.
Remember Oz--I want the Venice Beach book just as soon as you finish it. You know, leave scorch marks on your hands as I grab it away from you. :o)

I'll let you know when I finish Venice. You should be busy till I do that. :)

2. Andrew Davidson - the Gargoyle
3. Carlos Ruiz Zafron - Shadow of the Wind
4. CT Adams - Touch of Evil
5. J.R. Ward - Dark Lover
6. Deidre Knight - Red Fire
7. Kresley Cole - A Hunger Like No Other
8. Alexandra Ivy - When Darkness Comes
Finally done with my first. Took me a day longer than I expected. I liked the book, and am now looking forward to reading the rest of the series (but it'll have to take a backseat to the other two series I'm already reading for now).
And I'm another Vampire Academy fan. It's very well-written for a YA, and I can't wait for the 4th to come out this year.

1. Halfway to the Grave by Jeanine Frost
2.Deathbringer Bryan Smith
3. Dark Lover J R Ward
4. Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione
5. Working for the Devil by Lilth SaintCrow
6. Shifter antho. feat. Angela Knight
7. Count on Love Melinda Curtis
8. Marked Joely Skye
9. Risen J Smith

Oh, all books will be put aside when Bone Crossed finally arrives at my door. Nothing can keep me from Mercy, Adam and Samuel (not to mention Stefan), and I feel no guilt in that admission. ;D
James D. Doss—The Shaman Sings
Susan Sussman—Cruising for Murder
P. C. Hodgell—God Stalk
That's 3 down, 6 to go

However Blue Moon not so much.
1. Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
2. The Messenger by Jan Burke
3.
4. Touch the Dark by Karen Chance
5.
6. Greywalker by Kat Richardson
7. Working for the Devil by Lilith SaintCrow
8. Me'lusine by Sarah Monette
9. The Devil You Know by Mike Carey

Huh, I quite liked Blue Moon. I've only read the first two in Handeland's Nightcreatures series, but I did enjoy them (and really liked the first in her new series, Any Given Doomsday). What about Blue Moon didn't you like?
