This is pacey, and that's the best thing I can say about it.
No one in this book behaves like a human being. Adam, the protagonist searching for his missing girlfriend, is astonishingly thickheaded one second, and jumps to just the right conclusion the next. The Second Doctor meets...Lovecraft?! It's fine, not quite as visceral or visual or full of dread as I would have liked (these being the best aspects of Lovecraftian work) but then ending/means of baddie-defeating is very funny, even if the confusion itself is a bit abrupt.
