it was amazing
The Antigone story set in a dystopian future? Yes, and it works. Despite the multi-POV thing (which I hate), we're given just enough of the old story to bring us into the world - a world where there's only one city, with survivors of what appears to be a nuclear war, forced to codify ways to keep genetic diversity going. Really interesting historical fiction about the anti-Semitic, anti-war problems in Boston during the Second World War. Based on real people and events, it has lessons for the divisions in the US today. In addition to the real sense we're given about Dorchester and Charlestown in the 30s and 40s, the tensions are clearly described - between social classes, religions and even neighborhoods.

As the book progressed, it was sometimes difficult to read
