it was ok
This would be three stars but it epitomizes one of the things I hate most about science fiction of the last couple decades. There are far too many series and few of the books can stand alone in part. This first "installment" takes nearly 550 pages bringing virtually nothing to a resolution. Instead, it tells the reader to come back in a year when the likelihood is the next several hundred pages also are unlikely to provide substantive resolution ...more
