The Book of Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate

Badabada7’s first review of the year

it was amazing
4-1/2 stars rounded up to 5, because this was an extraordinary audible book (just a little too long). I highly recommend that this book be listened to. The narrators, especially the actress who portrayed Hannie Gossett, were outstanding.

Tom Lake by Ann Patchett

Badabada7’s last review of the year

really liked it
Meryl Streep made listening to this book a delightful experience. It was like listening to a well acted radio play. The story was compelling and A.P.’s skill in developing characters and using similes and metaphors was masterful, as always. I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence that Ann Patchett’s characters matched M.S.’s family: a dad, a mom, and three daughters, but that idea stuck in my mind..
