I’ve read a decent amount of vampire books; salems lot, Dracula, dracul, I Am Legend, twilight(?), etc, but I don’t think I’ve read one where there’s a vampire who has discovered a cure for their “red thirst� - so that was a very interesting component of this story. At first I thought it was set in antebellum south for no real reason, but as the story develops, it becomes clear it wouldnt have worked any other way � still, I am always hesitant wh ...more
