After a slow start, this story took off. Grann’s writing style, with laser-focused details, pulls you in for 50+ page reading sessions that seem to fly by in minutes. Reminiscent of Golding’s “Lord of the Flies�, it shows how vulnerable man is in the wild absent the comforts of civilization.
