This book was recommended to me first by a close friend and then, months later, by my sister. It probably took me eighteen months or so to finally get around to reading it.
I wasn't disappointed. Towles's novel probably takes the prize as the most charming book I have ever read, whilst steering well clear from saccharine sentimentality.

This is my fifth read of a novel by David Nicholls. The cover boasts 'laugh-out-loud' and 'funniest book of the year' from reviewers, and I have found Nicholls's novels laugh-out-loud funny, especially Starter for Ten.
