I thought this was another dark and twisty one from the author and while things once again went a bit over the top, I really enjoyed it.
There are some overused words and phrases, for example Somers blushing or sounding apologetic is mentioned A LOT. This was a very different style for Swanson and while it wasn’t my favorite by him, I’m always happy to try something new and different and it was an entertaining quick read.
You begin the story in the present, then retrace their relationship and history to their beginning and the event that first connected them. It’s a creative concept, and I enjoyed witnessing their initial state (their eventual end) at their lowest point and gradually wi ...more
