If I were to rate on the writing alone, Tom Lake would be 5 stars. Patchett's writing is so rich and beautifully insightful. But, even her lovely prose could not buoy a boring plot and uninspiring characters. I still love Ann Patchett --I just don't love Tome Lake. ...more

Amazing recipes, as expected. One caveat for the person who is short on time or resources, the ingredient list for many recipes is lengthy and (for some) obscure. These are not "use what's in your pantry" meals. That being said - the finished products are well worth the extra effort. ...more
