it was amazing

I absolutely loved this book. I felt it was so complete, I experienced every emotion while reading it. I laughed with all my heart and cried my eyes out. It is a masterpiece, I must admit. I love Sarah J. Maas with all my heart.

If I am not wrong, this is my first adult fantasy novel. That means the characters are older than in YA, therefore they prove to be more complexly portrayed. I loved that, it is the aspect that makes me decide if I love a I absolutely loved this book. I felt it was so complete, I experienced every emotion while reading it. I laughed with all my heart and cried my eyes out. It is a masterpiece, I must admit. I love Sarah J. Maas with all my heart.

If I am not wrong, this is my first adult fantasy novel. That means the characters are older than in YA, therefore they prove to be more complexly portrayed. I loved that, it is the aspect that makes me decide if I love a book or if I only like it. The social relations between the characters are extremely well developed, more complicated than they appear to be. I find the way she made the characters and their relationships to be the best part of the book along with the next subject I am going to write about.

This whole book felt almost like a crime/mystery novel. The plot was actually built up around a mass murder which implied the main characters’ close friends. The part that is the most valuable is that when you read it you feel that you know everything and nothing at the same time. A paradox I know, but that’s specifically how I felt. It is loaded with plot twists and secrets. Especially in the last 200 pages, when there are like four or five or even more consecutive climaxes. I can’t describe the hunger with which I read those last two hundred pages which had me crying so much I finished a whole box of tissues.

The main romance is quite interesting, not exactly an enemies to lovers trope, because they didn’t technically hate each other, it was more of a reluctance and severe past trauma on both sides which made their relationship develop unexpectedly.

The thing I fear the most but also I can’t wait to have it is the next book in the series. I really like the dynamic of the Bryce - Hunt duo, but I know Sarah J. Maas well enough to have real hopes about Hunt being endgame. I have a feeling she’s going to pull a Tamlin.

If you wanna cry, just listen to “Another Love” by Tom Odell while reading chapter 93 (the one with the Drop and Danika). I never felt more sad. The thing that’s still bothering me is that the pack is gone. When they wave to Bryce from the Bone Quarter I broke, even more when it was mentioned that Danika wasn’t with them because she stopped existing. SHE DIDN’T DESERVE THAT AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME OTHERWISE.

My favourite character was Ruhn. I love him so much. I have probably like dozens of reasons why, but I think these are worth mentioning:
1. Despite absolute everything, he always put Bryce above himself.
2. He was kind and had good intentions even though he was raised by a selfish and cruel father.
3. He has dark hair.
4. He has a sarcastic attitude and a special charm surrounds him.
5. ****Spoiler****Even though in the end we find out that basically Bryce has “stolen his spotlight”, that she has taken a thing he made important in his image, he was selfless about it.

I am still intrigued by Aidas. Like there are so many fine men in this book they make up a whole collection: Tharian, Hunt, even The Autumn King and Micah bc they were fine, Aidas, Isaiah, Flynn, Dec, Connor, Ithan and Thorne.That makes eleven and I am still not sure I put them all.

As for the end, I was all swollen and my book was wet with tears. I can’t say how much ease it brought to my heart there was a relatively happy ending. Can’t wait for the next one ughh. 5/5???? ...more

I am impressed. As I have a great passion for reading, I have read many more books at my 16 years than other teenagers my age. I never thought that classical literature or ,should I say, this Victorian novel would make such a tremendous difference from the contemporary literature.
