A graduate of Oberlin College, Holly also has a master's degree in Speech-Communication from the University of Minnesota. During her decades of work for The Schubert Club, St. Paul's oldest arts organization, she co-edited a book about its 125th anniversary and wrote a book about a local Iraqi-Armenian pianist. She appears regularly in local theatre productions and does educational role-playing for the University of Minnesota and the Barbara Schneider Foundation's crisis intervention training program.
