I have more book news! I'm so excited to be bringing my Australian bestselling novels to readers around the world. Joining Daughter of Mine is Birthright, my novel about a family, an inheritance, a difficult mother and scheming siblings. I got the idea for this book from everyday life.
In 2020, people are inheriting family money in their 60's rather than their 40's and this is causing a new epidemic of inheritance impatience and elder abuse. Throw in adult sibling rivalry and it can get very messy and makes for a great and meaty story!

Dear Readers,
'Where there's a will, there's a relative' is a very apt statement. I wrote Birthright, because I wanted to explore, among other things, the tricky topic of family and money. Is inheritance a right or a privilege ? How do sibling rivalries and parental favorites impact on decisions? If one adult child is rich, does this mean they inherit less? And what happens when an elderly parent starts to fail and is open to coercison? I've also thrown in a struggling marriage, an estranged sister , a sister-in-law and one of the nicest men I've ever written, along with one of the worst. I hope you enjoy spending time with Ellie, Sarah and Anita as they navigate their lives, their family ties and a matriarch who isn't who she seems.

So what's it about? "Where there's a will, there's a relative," said Roger Karshner. Very true! Birthright is my novel about a family, who among other things, are behaving badly over money. Three very different adult siblings, all with children of their own, have an aging mother and after years of living away, the eldest son and youngest daughter return to small town Mingunyah. Sarah is the eldest by nine months, but has always been overshadowed by her brother, Cameron, who is their mother, Margaret's, favorite. Ellie was a difficult teenager and no one can see the adult she has become. Cameron believes his father's early death denied him the family business and feels owed. Everyone has their own set of relationship issues of their own and then there is Margaret - a matricarch in the true sense of the word.
When Margaret's health deteriorates will long-held secrets and childhood rivalries smash this family into pieces?
