Karl was born and bred in Berkeley, California. He speaks French, but not to his toddler daughter, to the consternation of those around him. But look - Karl doesn't feel completely himself when he speaks French (even though he's fluent), so stop giving him a hard time.

Karl doesn't like speaking in the third person, which is actually called "illeism," if you can believe it. So he will switch now. I am an avid reader of horror books and decided to take a stab at it (SPOILER: My first book has little to not actual stabbing in it). My favorites are King, Malfi, Simmons, Blackmore, Aycliffe, and Malerman.
