I have re-read Howtown, book #3 in the original series. I am currently reading Nava's latest Henry Rios Mystery - book #8; the first novel in the series in almost two decades (and it's incredible!). Another classic re-published for the first time since 1991 by ReQueered Tales is the horror-classic, STEAM, by the late Jay B. Laws, a one-of-a kind queer horror/suspense novel; a must read by newer generations. Other novels read/or upcoming: Orientation (Borealis Investigations, #1) by Gregory Ashe & The Cricketer's Arms (A Clyde Smith Mystery, #1) by Garrick Jones.(less)

Excerpt: Lion’s Head Revisited: A Dan Sharp Mystery by Jeffrey Round

Excerpt:

She knew she was going to die. The feeling persisted, like something pushing out from inside her until it took on a kind of force. The climb had been a mad, nerve-wracking scramble, up from the campground over moss-covered rock and low-lying brush to the top of the escarpment. She’d fought panic all the way. It was only on reaching the top that she paused for breath, her sides heaving.

“It takes a certain kind of man willing to work long, grueling hours in a career offering few rewards.”
Jon Michaelsen, Pretty Boy Dead

“Hustling sex for cash ain’t dangerous if you learn the tricks quick, and that means puttinâ€ yourself in a different mindset. Always scout for an exit for when you need it. Act confident and tough and you won’t get hurt. Being scared or nervous will get you cut up and stuffed in a fuckinâ€ bag.”
Jon Michaelsen, Pretty Boy Dead

“We go about our lives in a huff, you know? Chasing that big American dream seared into our brains since birth. Along the way, we forget the experiences that worked to shape our lives, the very essence of our being.”
Jon Michaelsen, Prince of the Sea
