The Outcasts - A Thousand Dreams of Redemption by Lidija Stankovikj
“Yesterday, she said, referring to the collective past of her tribe, the people of these forests knew the secret. They made the finest silk thread from the cocoon of a beautiful sleeping butterfly. The women reeled the silk thread on the spinning wheel, slowly and gently. Such delicate work it was, that the silk remembered, at last, the moth which had created it. And the women were awed at the silver shine of the silk produced. If the silk is so divine, they thought, what must be the beauty of the butterfly waiting to be born? They stopped breaking the cocoons and looked for the crimson wings of the butterflies emerging from the torn nests of raw silk. The sight took them aback. They became sages and storytellers. My mother’s mother was one of them.

The Outcasts - A Thousand Dreams of Redemption by Lidija Stankovikj
“You ask me hey traveller, where is your home?
Do you ask a lotus where it comes from?
Deep waters and mire matter no more
It rises to skies untouched and sole.

You ask me hey traveller, where will you go?
Do you ask a wild seed where it will fall?
Roots and stems matter no more
It rises to skies detached and sole.

You ask me hey traveller, can I come along?
For few moonlit nights, we’ll share this road
Loss and gain will matter no more
Once each departs on a path of his own.

The Outcasts - A Thousand Dreams of Redemption by Lidija Stankovikj
“When a baby is born, it is touched twice.
First, Angel Jibrail places his finger on its upper lip, to make it forget the spiritual realm it is coming from.
Then, Shaitan lays his fingers on both sides of its body, to infuse doubt and blame.
Thus, we all come to this world with a ridge on our lips and cry in our souls.
It may take an eon to dispel the dust of fear brought by the Shaitan.
It takes nothing more than a mirror, to see the mark of the Angel.

“If God is One, then man is like a 0.(9) â€ he is there, without even knowing it. He needs to cross an infinite ocean of repetitiveness before he realizes he is, already, one with the One.”
Lidija Stankovikj, Alexander's Infinity

“Yes, there is a giant within each of us, capable of greatness. The mind keeps him deeply asleep in his dreary world of illusions, so that he could somehow bear the squeezing and pressing of this limited reality. He remains a prisoner of that ignorance until the flame gets lit, and the urge to be free outdoes all fears.”
Lidija Stankovikj, Alexander's Infinity

“You want to be a soothsayer, but do you know your present? Can you be a witness of each one of your breaths? Every single moment slips through your sieve-like mind. Then what is the point seeing the future beforehand, if you are going to waste it just like you are wasting your present?”
Lidija Stankovikj, Alexander's Infinity

“You use your mind as a vining rod in search for the precious. But finding Buddhahood is nothing like gold dowsing. Drop all your creeds, for they are no more than bogus pendulums that point towards the center of gravity of your cunning ego. Drop the very idea of Buddhahood!”
Lidija Stankovikj, Alexander's Infinity

“Slip from the state of mindfulness and, before you know it, the first thought will appear. The bloom of the first poppy in the field. And then the second one too. An exponential progression of blooms you can no longer contain. One day, half of what you see is green. The next day, you find your once green meadow washed completely in the color of rubies. Your mind has turned into a bein-sar, an opium-eater, intoxicated with the seeds of the worldly.”

“A million faces of Buddha smiled at the night's futile attempt to lull the Awakened One into an ocean of dreams.”
