Lara Morgan writes for both adults and teens and is the author of The Twins of Saranthium series and The Rosie Black Chronicles.

She lives in a coastal town in Western Australia called Geraldton which is a long way from most places and too close to others.

Her mission is to rid the world of tea, one cup at a time. This is going quite well.

I often am asked about characters after a book ends, but I feel that if I tell you what I think might happen it could disappoint you, or not be what you thought should happen , or it could even make things awkward if I ever write another book in this universe - and I have always said never say never about me revisiting Rosie and the gang, I do like to imagine what will happen to her and you can too, the only limit is your imagination...and maybe physics.
As for coming up with the ideas, that's just a big question. Some of the characters arrive in my mind strongly right at the start - Rosie, Aunt Essie, and Pip - while others are more of a slow burn, coming into the light as I write and get to know them. As for the ideas - honestly I'm never really sure, all I know is I feel driven to write a certain story at a certain time, and most of it comes from just starting to write and exploring the world.
Other books - I've had such little time to read lately that I can't keep up with all the good sci fi YA that's been coming out. I did really enjoy Cristen Terrell's, time travel sci fi, All Our Yesterdays, though that's not really like Rosie - perhaps she's unique! I've been reading, and really enjoying, Lois Lowry's The Giver quartet and I've been hearing good things about the Across the Universe series by Beth Revis.

If I can't write it's because something is wrong with what I'm doing and usually it's to do with a plot that is just not working and I'm trying to force it, I'm overthinking it or I've gotten lost. I deal with it by first making another cup of tea and rummaging for chocolate, then I give myself permission to free write. By this I mean I step away from the computer and go to pen and paper and just start scribbling, anything that comes to mind, no matter how truly awful it might be and it might not be that day or the next but eventually I will find my way back just by allowing myself the freedom to write badly, to make up ridiculous plot angles and follow my characters down all the rabbit holes. There's something about the pen and the paper which reconnects me to the soul of the story. (less)

“Pip was trembling with fatigue. "I gotta sit down."
He made it to a chair before he collapsed and Cassie was immediately there with a medikit, pulling up his shirt, examining gel patches. He'd felt them stop working some time ago and they were now dried and covered in dirt.
"Stop trying to get my clothes off, woman!" He made a weak attempt to fend her off, but she smacked his hands away.”
