Todd Strasser is an American author of more than 130 novels for adults, young-adults, and middle graders.

His most recent novel is Summer of '69

Desiree,

Thanks for your question. Earlier this year I published No Place, a YA novel about a middle class family that suddenly finds itself homeless. Like the novels you mentioned, it is realistic fiction.(less)

Chrissy,
Funny you should ask. I hadn't played in years and then caught the bug big time this fall and even went out and bought my first electric guitar! I've been having a blast trying -- poorly -- to play ZZ Top, Stones, Tom Petty, etc. Have you discovered all the tutorials on Youtube?(less)

YES, I DON’T REMEMBER WOODSTOCK

Just about everybody over the age of 60, it seems, knows someone who went to Woodstock. The original crowd estimate was around 400,000, but thanks to the movie, web sites, books and other media relating to the event, almost anyone can recite in detail what it was like: The rain, the lack of food and shelter, the amazing, and not so amazing performances, the wonderful feeling of togetherness despit Read more of this blog post »

Topics Mentioning This Author

“Of course it would be great to sell lots and lots of copies of The Beast of Cretacea. But the bottom line for me is to sell enough copies to convince my publisher to let me do a sequel. I spent three years creating the world of Cretacea and the personalities of all the characters who inhabit it. All I want to do now is go back.”

“Deadlines are like a drug for me. I hate and need them.”
Todd Strasser

“What does it take to be a writer? 1) Foolhardily believing that someone might actually be interested in reading what you've written. 2) Spending an enormous amount of time writing it as well as you can. 3) Accepting that, at best, you'll probably be paid something around 25 cents an hour for your efforts.”
