Hello everyone,
I hope you all are well and are looking forward to a new year. I'm excited to see what the future holds. The past few years have been a whirlwind. My husband and I have had 2 wonderful babies, and have gone through 3 big military relocations, all while I still maintained a full-time job. I've been scribbling scenes, chapters, story ideas and world building/organizing whenever I can.
This year, I'm going to share some of my scribbles with you and, with any luck, these scribbles will equal a book.

A chill broke out across his skin and sank deeply into his bones. His hands tightened into fists at his side, his instincts roared to the fore - ever ready to defend, to protect, to destroy, to kill without mercy.
She turned her face back to him. Her eyes continued to shine with searing light. "Find her and you will know the truth. Find her and you will be freed."
He shook his head. "How am to find her if I can't-"
She was in the cell, her hands pressed to his chest. Evyn shivered, her touch was cold yet burned and...it had been so long since he'd felt a gentle touch. He'd been locked away, forgotten for years, decades, possibly centuries. He'd lost track of time as he paced the confining space and fed from the vermin that mistakenly entered his domain. Her sudden nearness should've set him on edge, should've spiked his bloodlust. As he stared down into her glowing gold eyes he felt the most profound peace, the most exquisite calm. Her use of magic should unnerve him, should trigger his anger. No one controlled him, no one had power over him. He was in this cell because he'd permitted it, not because the Duke willed it.
Evyn fought against the invisible tether she'd cast around him and managed to take a step back.
The sorceress's lips curled ever so slightly in the corner, but a smile didn't appear. "You're exceptionally strong." Her voice dropped to breathy whisper. "The strongest...she is the key...Her blood..."~
