Wow! Preparedness-related news has been coming at us like machine gun fire this past week. Because of my location, I’ll start with Hurricane Helene.

As most of you know, I spend much of the year in Western North Carolina, where recovery efforts from last week’s storm will be ongoing for months. Like most of the state, we received record amounts of rain resulting in what is being called a 1000-year flood.

Years ago, my wife and I volunteered with Samaritan’s Purse after catastrophic flooding in West Virginia. We saw firsthand what torrential rains could do when rushing down the side of a mountain. So, when we selected our homestead, being high and dry and away from areas prone to landslides was a non-negotiable. By the grace of God, our property wasn’t damaged. We were without power for two days, but the generator and recent solar backup system kept us running.

Most of the destruction from Helene came along rivers and low-lying valleys in Western North Carolina where entire towns were completely washed away. The area has also experienced massive road closures from roads and bridges being washed away as well as mudslides.

This storm revealed the absolute lack of readiness on the part of many people around here who weren’t even prepared to shelter in place for 24 hours.

If there is a silver lining to all of this, our homestead and our small Appalachian town have both been battle-tested. Roads, bridges, and infrastructure remain intact with most grocers and big box stores opening up the day after the storm. We’ve had lots of people driving in from Ashville and other hard-hit areas to resupply at our local gas stations and stores.

Please keep those who lost so much in your prayers. Places like Banner Elk are totally cut off from the outside world and towns like Chimney Rock are completely washed away.

Besides the flooding, this week we’ve seen the longshoreman’s union declare a strike which could have severely impacted the supply chain if had not resolved quickly. Tens of thousands of Bank of America customers were unable to access their accounts during an outage this week that the financial behemoth blamed on “technical issues.�

At the time of this writing, we are awaiting Israel’s response to the latest volley of missiles from Iran. The regional conflict is escalating with no signs of abating.

After Putin’s redline warning over Ukraine using NATO-supplied long-range missiles to strike targets deep inside Russia, Western leaders seemed hesitant to allow such an attack. Nevertheless, since the decision, Ukraine has used long-range weapons that they built themselves to hit munitions targets deep within the Russian homeland. Where did they get the parts and technology for these DIY drones? I bet Vladimir Putin could tell you. And I doubt you’d be surprised if it was the US and our allies. I might remind you that a loophole and a noose are precariously similar, in that either can be fitted tightly around one’s neck.

I’ll also remind you that while black swan events are labeled as such because of their rarity, no written law exists to prohibit them from occurring simultaneously with other cataclysmic events. The night Helene made landfall in Florida, my wife and I watched the projected track on television. When we went to sleep, it was predicted to head toward Nashville, TN. When we woke up, we were in the remnants of Hurricane Helene’s eye, and Western North Carolina had been changed forever.

Make hay while the sun shines. You do not know what a day may bring.

As our country continues to circle the toilet bowl toward becoming a banana republic, where politicians use the power of the state to jail their political opponents, and the currency is debased to the point of being worthless, we have to do what we can to prepare our own personal arks. The rain has started and the waters are rising.

Prices for food, housing, transportation, and basic commodities continue to be out of reach for many Americans and it’s only going to get worse. The US is increasing it’s debt by more than $2 trillion a year. When the government borrows money, they spend that money into the economy and increase the amount of currency in circulation. At the same time, the entity loaning the money still has their collateral in the form of US treasuries, plus interest. It all adds up to more money chasing the same amount of goods and services, which leads to higher and higher consumer prices.

So, whether you’re considering putting in a solar backup system, adding to your food storage, getting some back yard chickens, purchasing night vision or thermal to level up your security plan, my advice is to get it done sooner rather than later. It’s never going to be cheaper to do than it is right now. The slow-motion economic train wreck is in progress.

And just because we have an inflation crisis, it doesn’t mean other black swans won’t land in our yard. As we speak, China continues to run ever-larger military maneuvers around Taiwan. We have personnel and equipment in the region, ready to jump into yet another war, should China invade.

North Korea continues to antagonize South Korea with massive volleys of missile test launches. In response, South Korea’s National Security Council has suspended the 2018 inter-Korean peace pact. The conflict between Israel and Iran is still steaming.

And last but certainly not least, The US has just escalated tensions with Russia providing Ukraine with surface-to-surface missiles. The US-supplied missiles have been used on multiple targets inside Russia, mostly on facilities operating early warning radars which could suggest the intention of more attacks. These weapon systems are probably less user-friendly than your average cell-phone, so it’s possible that US military personnel are the ones launching the missiles. And if Mr. Putin happens to be a subscriber to this newsletter, I doubt I’m telling him anything he doesn’t already know.

We’ve seen a lot of saber rattling this week. The US test launched two Minuteman III ICBMs, the Netherlands announced that their F-35’s are now capable of delivering nuclear missiles, and NATO announced a plan for rapid deployment of 300,000 troops, mostly US military, to the frontlines, in the event of a direct conflict with Russia.

According to the US Congressional EMP Commission, Russia, China, North Korea, and possibly Iran are all capable of launching an EMP attack on the US. It doesn’t take WWIII or an EMP for these conflicts to affect you directly. Computer chips for everything from cars to washing machines come from Taiwan and South Korea. So, get the gear, learn to use it, and keep adding to your skills. Resources are never going to be cheaper and more abundant than they are right now.

I hope you and your family are doing well and that your new year is off to a good start. As for me, I continue to prepare for the nightmarish reality that the globalists, like those at the World Economic Forum, have in store for us.

In 2020, at the onslaught of COVID, the WEF posted a video on YouTube predicting what the world would be like in 2030. The video has been removed by the WEF from YouTube, but can still be found on the WEF’s Facebook page where it was originally posted in 2016. If you haven’t seen it, you can find it by googling “world economic forum video 8 predictions for the world in 2030�. Then scroll down until you find the Facebook result.

The first prediction is that you’ll own nothing and be happy. Since 2020, inflation has skyrocketed, particularly for things like food and housing. We all feel it. Several of our friends that were comfortable in 2020 are now making difficult economic decisions. We know three families that have resorted to living in trailers or campers because buying a house is unaffordable for them at these prices. We know another family that is paying $6,000 a year for home owners� insurance on a modest house in a working-class neighborhood because they can’t foot the bill for a new roof in order to bring down the insurance premium. Another family we know has a successful business but are stuck renting because they also have been priced out of the market.

These are all hard-working families, most with descent jobs. But the American Dream seems to be slipping these out of reach for them. Certainly, the first half of that prophecy is coming to fruition for many of our friends. They’re all keeping their chins up, making the best of the opportunities they’ve been given, but to say their happy—well, that might be a stretch.

Prediction number two says the US will no longer be the world’s super power. We’ve seen that divination come true in spades. Since Joe Biden took office, we’ve become the laughing stock for the world. Plus, by ejecting Russia from the SWIFT system, we mandated that they must settle oil contracts in currencies other than dollars, thereby reducing overall demand for the dollar as an international trade currency. Since Russia’s ouster from SWIFT, many other countries have followed suit in settling international trade contracts for oil in their own currencies or other currencies besides the dollar.

Prediction number four is that you’ll eat less meat. As massive food inflation has continued to assail the typical American consumer, I suspect this prognostication is also being fulfilled.

Number six claims that polluters will have to pay to emit carbon dioxide. And by polluters, they mean you. This utopian dream has already come true for Canadians who pay an average of an extra $5.60 each time they fill up at the pump, plus the added tax applied to consumer goods for producers who pass those costs on to the end user. While the US doesn’t yet have a federally levied carbon tax, Washington State does with an additional $0.43 tax per gallon on gas. Additionally, several other far-left states are pushing for legislation that will punish taxpayers for their crimes against mother earth and polar bears.

Prediction number seven is just a pipe dream meant to distract you from all the other dystopian plans coming from this coven of satanic psychopaths. It predicts that you could be going to Mars. 400 people have won the Powerball Jackpot in the United States. Only 12 people have walked on the Moon. You’re not going to Mars in 2030.

And finally come number eight which states that Western values will have been tested to the breaking point. When you consider this prediction was originally made in 2016, turned out to be astoundingly accurate. 452 people were charged for practicing their freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to petition the Government for a redress of grievances, and freedom of the press. Each charge is a horror story meant to convey the message that you are no longer free and that your western values have been deemed irrelevant. Of those 452, Stuart Rodes did not even enter the Capitol Building but was sentenced to 18 years. Enrique Torrio wasn’t even in DC and was sentenced to 22 years.

Reporters who were just there to do their job were found guilty and sent to prison. People who went inside after being waved in or invited in by police, on camera, were swatted in the middle of the night by the FBI, taken to prison where they were treated worse than animals, and found guilty by leftist judges in kangaroo courts in a mockery of justice not seen in the worst communist countries.

Likewise, just this week, six people were convicted for federal violation of the FACE act for peacefully protesting outside of an abortion clinic in Mt Juliet, TN. Meanwhile, inside the clinic, murderers were slaughtering innocent babies without consequence.

Western values have been all but extinguished here in America, and they are quickly being replaced with the values of Eastern dictators like Kim Jong Un and Chairman Xi who persecute political dissenters and embrace infanticide.

Other than the pipe dream about going to Mars, the WEF has been exceptionally accurate in their predictions. It causes one to wonder if perhaps they have a crystal ball. The only other choice would be a slightly more conspiratorial explanation. Is it possible, that Klaus Schwab and the WEF managed to somehow bring about this predicted outcome? If so, it’s a chilling fact.

In light of the demonstrated ability of the WEF to see the future, let’s consider the latest prophetic revelation from the Managing Director of the World Economic Forum, Jeremy Jurgens. Citing a WEF Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2023 report, Jurgens said a far-reaching, catastrophic cyber event is likely in the next two years. Considering this statemen was made in January of 2023, that suggests this predicted event will occur in the next 11 months—just in time for the election or inauguration.

Whether or not we’re hit with a catastrophic cyber event, the dollar, American values, civility, freedom, and society at large are crumbling into dust. Hold fast to your faith and keep on prepping!

CPS removes her because Mason is not providing a gender-affirming environment. Mason tries to fight back through the courts but hits a dead end. With no other course of action available, Mason is forced to take alternative measures to protect his daughter.

As if things weren’t bad enough, demand for US dollars is cut in half triggering a cascading failure in America’s currency. Prices skyrocket, markets plummet, and chaos breaks out in the streets. A charismatic aristocrat named Ange de Bourbon rides in on a white horse with a plan for a common global currency that can save the West from certain economic ruin.

Amidst the turmoil, Mason witnesses a plane crash, several abandoned cars blocking traffic, and hears reports of people who have simply disappeared with no explanation. Social media posts, videos, and even emails discussing the strange phenomenon are quickly taken down. The media is silent about the vanishings but has no shortage of mayhem to report.

Mason gets a call from his boss at Poseidon telling him that he should move his family out of New York City by the following day. Mason understands that his boss knows more than he’s allowed to say. He implores his wife and four daughters to get out of the city before it’s to late.

A two-thousand-year-old prophecy has predicted a time of unparalleled tumult that will be poured out upon the earth. Over a seven-year period, God’s final judgments will rain down as sword, famine, and plague, being revealed as seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven vials of God’s wrath.

The more Mason learns about this archaic writing by the Apostle John, the harder it is becoming for him to deny that he has been left behind. If this gauntlet of destruction is to be survived, Mason Lot will have to decipher the ancient texts, put together a plan, and pray like it’s the end of the world.

This year’s meeting of the BRICS nations in August did not have the new gold-backed trade currency on the agenda as reported by RT. However, the developments of the group’s annual summit were no less noteworthy.

BRICS approved membership applications for three OPEC members, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the UAE. Additionally, they granted membership to Argentina and Ethiopia.

It is unclear why the gold-backed trade currency was not a topic of discussion at this year’s meeting. The suggestion that it would be may have been Russian propaganda. Or, the new members could have insisted on a seat at the table for the new currency discussion. Or, diplomatic pressure might have been applied by the US to India or another of the member countries. Regardless, I’m hesitant to write off the possibility of the topic being revisited in the future.

What we know for sure is that Russia and Brazil are both pushing for a BRICS alternative currency. We also know that China, Argentina, India, Russia, and many other countries who once to relied strictly on the US dollar for international trade are now settling oil, gas, and other commodity contracts in their own currencies, driving down demand for the dollar.

All of these are indications of economic power and influence, and it is undeniable that the BRICS alliance is rising on the world stage.

In my latest series, Lamentations for the Fallen, a merger of BRICS and OPEC and their development of a new trade currency was the catalyst for a cascading failure of the US dollar. This series is fiction and these types of collapses typically don’t play out at the break-neck speeds necessary for a thrilling literary tale. But make no mistake. As we see the existing world order morph into a bifurcated economic system, the influence of the dollar will continue to wane. And with that waning influence will go our government’s ability to abuse the world’s reserve currency along with the dollar’s purchasing power.

Upon Congress reaching a 45-day stopgap deal this week to stave off a government shutdown, the US debt clock jumped $275 billion in a single day, bringing our national debt above $33.4 trillion. The current Fed funds rate is 5.5%. But if the US had to pay even 5% on our current debt, that would be $1.67 trillion, over a third of the total tax revenue collected in 2022.

Should rates go higher, lets say to 7.5%, more than half of the total tax revenue would go just to pay the interest on the debt. We’re already running a $2-trillion-dollar annual deficit and things will only get worse from here. This country is barreling headlong into a sovereign debt crisis from which there is no way out. And while the time line may be more stretched out than the catastrophes I write about in my novels, the end result will be no less cataclysmic.

Thanks to Caleb’s and Bristol’s bravery, Cocke County has been freed from the Koontz family’s greedy grip. However, in a world that is being savaged by an economically induced famine, the local criminal cartel is far from the only threat.

Once there, they learn that Camp 11 is far from the most egregious form of FEMA’s compulsory compassion. Caleb and Bristol will have to be on their toes to not get sucked further down the rat hole before they get an opportunity to escape.

Last week, RT announced that the BRICS nations would be putting together a gold-backed reserve currency. This is bad news for the dollar which is already in the throes of death.

The BRICS will be holding their annual summit the last week of August and I suspect they will provide more details about the coming reserve currency. The BRICS nations have been piling into gold with record purchases over the last couple of years, particularly Russia and China.

I do not expect that they will announce a currency that is fully convertible to gold on demand. I also doubt it will be like the EURO in that it will replace the existing currencies of the participating countries. But even if it is only fractionally backed by gold, say ten percent, or even if it is merely pegged to gold, it will go a long way on providing a stable medium of exchange for the BRICS nations.

India is the only member country not supporting the new currency, which maybe a result of pressure from the US. However, they have been trading with Russia in currencies other than the dollar since Russia’s expulsion from the SWIFT global financial messaging system.

According to economist Stephen Jen, global central bank reserves fell to 47% USD in 2022, down from 59% in 2020, and 73% in 2001. ĚýThe dedollarization trend is catching on faster than the latest social media app and this latest move by the BRICS nations will only add fuel to the fire. Plan accordingly.

If he doesn’t, he fears it may cost him his soul. I hope your year is off to a good start. I didn’t make any new year’s resolutions for 2023 other than to keep plugging away with the multitude of things already on my plate. Between the books, homestead, and family, I’m juggling about all I can handle.
