I started writing while serving in the Navy in the early 80s. I was a Russian linguist with the Naval Security Group at a time when the Cold War was still going strong. After my enlistment, I worked as an intelligence analyst and then a project manager for the Office of Naval Intelligence. You'd think this experience would have led me to write espionage novels, but it wasn't meant to be. Mind you I tried, but my heart wasn't in it.

Instead, I wrote horror stories and tales of a dystopian future. There were plenty of short stories, attempts at novels, and then novels. And while I've always had an incredible imagination, my early writing skills were pathetic.

I found "Steps" to be achingly real, captivating, irresistible. The humor was unexpected and clever. The angst, relatable and compelling. Looking forward to "A Shine So Cold." Any update on the unveiling of The Red Hand club?

Clearly I haven't been paying appropriate attention to my 欧宝娱乐 account, because I somehow missed your question. I'm still working on the concept of the Red Hand, and probably won't really start to grow it until after book two or three. Though, at this point, if you're a fan of Steps and Jimmy, you're a member of the Red Hand.

I do have a logo for the Special Tracing Unit, which I've posted on my Facebook author page. I also want to come up with a Hangar 7 Flight Crew logo for Les and Marty, something they can wear on a ball cap or shirt. Ultimately, these are items I want to have on hand to give out at book signings and other book events. Plus, it would be fun to have regular contests where I can give some of these items away.

Bouchercon 2017

Just got back from Bouchercon 2017, AKA the World Mystery Convention in Toronto. If you've never been to a book convention I highly recommend it.
