Body Art - Out Now

My extreme horror novel BODY ART has just been released by Blood Bound Books. Get your copy on Amazon today! Body Art

Body Art by Kristopher Triana

Art comes in many forms.

The human body is a canvas, and as an undertaker, Harold considers himself an artist. His expertise is bringing the appearance of life back to the dead for their wakes. But when his ex-lovers start arriving in body bags, Harold believes he’s receiving a message to create a new masterpiece.

Rutger and Kandi also make their art with flesh. The duo found fame in the golden age of pornography, releasing huge hits in the 80s and living extravagant lives. Now under the pressure of a new market, one that craves more vile and taboo movies, Rutger hires Kandi once again. This time the job is to create the most shocking porno imaginable. They even draw in two curious teenagers, Toby and Jessica, whose cabin vacation has landed them in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Attracted by all of these creations, a mysterious red dust surrounds these unique artists, bringing their worlds together.

"Whatever style or mode Triana is writing in, the voice matches it unfailingly... it's a safe bet we'll be seeing his name a lot in the years to come." -Cemetery Dance

"Definitely going to look for more from this author, who's definitely poised for a place alongside the likes of Wrath James White and Monica J. O'Rourke." - The Horror Fiction Review

“Triana's words drip with grisly elegance. Even when he turned my stomach, I couldn't help craving more. -Jessica McHugh, author of The Train Derails in Boston

“Triana delivers a glorious combination of sex, guts, and unexplainable supernatural strangeness. -Chad Stroup, author of Secrets of the Weird

Body Art

My extreme horror novel "Body Art" has just been picked up by the good madmen over at Blood Bound Books.

This one is as bloody and twisted as it gets, folks. I like to refer to it as "Hellraiser" meets "Deep Throat".

I worked with BBB before when my short story "The Devouring" appeared in "D.O.A. II". I am so glad to once again be working with one of the best, no-holds-barred horror presses out there! Stay tuned for more gruesome details as this develops.

The Ruin Season to be published in 2016

My novel "The Ruin Season" has just been accepted by Perpetual Motion Machine Publishing and they will be publishing it next year! This will be my novel debut!

The novel is a country noir story, filled with haunting madness and love, as well as violent heroism and blood-soaked revenge. It is a sorrowful tale in the southern gothic tradition of Cormac McCarthy, Harry Crews, Stewart O'Nan and Daniel Woodrell.

It is probably the work I am most proud of too.

I'll update everyone as this progresses.

GROWING DARK - Coming this Spring

My short story collection, GROWING DARK, will be coming out this spring. It is being published by Blue Juice Press and I am very excited to work with them.

This book collects my best and darkest short stories ranging from horror to weird westerns to gritty crime dramas. Some of these stories have been previously published in anthologies and magazines while others are being published here for the first time.

Also, I have just recently finished a horror novella and a contemporary fiction novel. I'm hoping they'll find a home somewhere out there as well. Stay tuned. Good things are a-comin!

D.O.A II An Extreme Horror Anthology

This July brings forth an anthology that I am incredibly proud to be a part of, and puts my work in the company of some of my personal writing heroes.

D.O.A II is the sequel to Blood Bound Book’s popular extreme horror anthology D.O.A. This is the sort of mind-raping, stomach-pumping, visceral horror that many critics would label violent pornography, but fans of the likes of Deadite Press and A Serbian Film can understand the appeal of grisly horror that pushes all limits and tramples over taboos in the name of creating lasting scares.

Along with one of my nasty short stories, this gruesome volume also contains vile entries from horror heavyweights Jack Ketchum, Wrath James White, J. F. Gonzalez, Robert Devereaux and many more. Not only am I grouped in with these legends - my story was selected by the editors to be the opening piece, a huge honor.

In 2008, I met Jack Ketchum at a horror con and got him to sign a book for me. Now it is 2013 and I’m in a book with him! I’m sure you can appreciate the excitement this gives me, and I hope that you’re all excited to check out this gnarly collection of carnage.

And if you need a little more convincing about the book’s quality, just check out this blurb we got from the godfather of gore himself:

"Make sure your health insurance covers psychiatric counseling before reading this book, because you’re gonna need it. The experience of this collection may be likened to getting run over by a 666-car locomotive engineered by Lucifer. This is the cream of grotesquerie’s crop, a Whitman’s Sampler of the heinous, and an absolutely gut-wrenching celebration of the furthest extremities of the scatological, the taboo, the unconscionable, and the blasphemous.

–EDWARD LEE, author of THE HAUNTER OF THE THRESHOLD and THE DUNWICH ROMANCE.

D.O.A II is now available from Blood Bound Books, and can be found on Amazon, Barnes and Nobel, and at any other fine bookseller.
