Jim Goforth is a horror author currently based in Albury, Australia. Happily married with two kids and a cat, he has been writing tales of horror since the early nineties.
After years of detouring into working with the worldwide extreme metal community and writing reviews for hundreds of bands across the globe with Black Belle Music he returned to his biggest writing love with first book Plebs published by J. Ellington Ashton Press. Along with Plebs, he is the author of a collection of short stories/novellas With Tooth and Claw, extreme metal undead opus Undead Fleshcrave: The Zombie Trigger, Riders: Plebs 2-Book One and Two, The Sleep, Carnival of Chaos, and Festival of the Flesh, co-author of collaborative novel Feral Hearts, and editor fo

Once I start writing on any particular project, the words almost always start to flow. It isn't really a case of lacking words, but more often, a matter of trying to keep my word counts from reaching enormous proportions.
On the off chance I do run into any sort of wall on something I'm working on, I shift focus to another project. I'm generally always working on multiple ideas at any given time, so switching back and forth between them is no problem. I usually come back to whichever one might have been the original problem child, rejuvenated and ready to complete it.(less)

But, more specifically, writing itself. I love to write, always have done and well, if other people dig reading the things I write, that makes it even better. Holding your own books in your hands and seeing your words in print is pretty damn cool too.(less)

2024 WRITING WRAP

Having a read back through last year’s edition of this Writing Wrap business, I realised I achieved nothing of what I made mention of there. There were remarks in regards to more Extremes books being on the horizon, potentially delving back into novellas and so forth, but suffice to say, none of that happened.

And why’s that, you ask? Pretty simple really.

“Aside from the, let's say, elegant decor and ambience you've created in that monstrosity you call a gathering place inside, you and your men haven't been much more impressive to me than fucking Corny. I thought combining forces with some likeminded souls would be an enterprising partnership, but ultimately I'm feeling a bit disappointed.”
Jim Goforth, Plebs

“Driving through the crowded city streets and gazing upon the bizarre stream of humanity had been quite an experience for the pair but walking amongst it, actually being trapped shoulder to shoulder with some of the city's freakish denizens was something entirely different.
Here the noise was amplified, loud with shouting, screaming, chattering, the sounds of traffic, the thundering of music from clubs and from hotted up car stereo systems, the wailing of sirens.
Miller felt diseased just striding amongst it, dressed in his blasphemous disguise.
Exiting the parking station was akin to being propelled into the outer rings of hell on a course which would launch he and Friar into the very bowels of the infernal pit AKA the Victory Ampitheatre where Satan's messengers would blast their horrendous music.

Sinister Cavan, coming in April in Axes of Evil”
Jim Goforth

“Clasped in his arms like some dead dancing partner was a bloated, festering corpse, a seaweed tangle of hair swirling around a fright mask of a face, ragged clothing hanging to an almost entirely skeletal frame.
David could almost hear mocking laughter issuing from the cavernous, busted hole mouth, and feel grasping bony fingers clinging to him, as the scream began to bubble out of him into the water. He dropped it and felt what was left of the bloated water-logged flesh began to come easily away from the bone.

From 'In the Darkest Hour'-as yet unpublished full length”

Now he was entrapped in a new nightmare sequence, a real here and now terror dream, a frightening distortion of reality fraught with horrible possibilities.”

All going great here, cheers. Keeping very busy with writing and promoting :) Richard Laymon is my number one inspiration and influence indeed. Book Depository is usually where I get most physical copies too, no shipping charge to Australia is always a bonus!

Will you be releasing any more books?"

Cheers Andy, I certainly shall. I currently have a story in the heavy metal horror anthology Axes of Evil which is out now and a collab novel co-written by six authors (one of whom is me) is due out in a month or so. I have a collection of short stories in with the publisher at the moment, and I'm in the middle of writing two other full length novels. After that I have plans for many more. A lot of ideas to get out of my head.
Cheers again :)
