Colin Conway is the creator of the 509 Crime Stories, a series of novels set in Eastern Washington with revolving lead characters. They are standalone tales and can be read in any order.

He also created the Cozy Up series which pushes the envelope of the cozy genre. Libby Klein, author of the Poppy McAllister series, says Cozy Up to Death is “Not your grandma’s cozy.

Colin co-authored the Charlie-316 series. The first novel in the series, Charlie-316, is a political/crime thriller that has been described as “riveting and compulsively readable, “the real deal, and “the ultimate ride-along.

He served in the U.S. Army and later was an officer of the Spokane

Hi Rich!

Thank you for reading the series and thank you for the huge compliment! Wow. Here's some insider info for you.

There are two new series set to launch. Both are sister series of the 509 Crime Stories which mean there will be character crossovers. One series starts out in 2004 so you get to see some of the older characters in their early days (Captain Ackerman, for example).

Also, I've invited some friends to come play in the 509. The first project will be out in a couple months. It's called The Eviction of Hope. In book six, the Hope Apartments were mentioned. That's where one of Tiger's girls lived and where the Lamplighter bar was at. The anthology came out really cool and I can't wait for to become part of the 509.

Thanks for reading and reaching out.

Hi Rich -

Thank you for the question. The series will keep going. I'm preparing for the sixth book to come out in early 2021. It will be the second Dallas Nash novel (the follow-up to THE LONG COLD WINTER).

Then I have two short story collections set in the 509. Many of the stories will feature appearances by characters from the novels. Some stories will just be to set the tone of the 509.

In May, an anthology will come out featuring other authors setting their short stories in the heart of the 509. Those stories will have cameo appearances from some the big name 509 characters. I'm editing that collection now and excited for that to come out.

After all of that, there are two new series that are set parallel to the 509 universe. One series features an amateur sleuth set in 2004 (about fifteen years prior to the 509). The second series features a former deputy set at the same time as the 509 series. These amateur sleuths will cross over with officers of the 509 (the earlier character will obviously meet the officers when they are younger in their career).

Then it's back to the keyboard as I have several other 509 stories outlined. That's a lot of words to say the 509 will live on far beyond book six.

Thanks for the question and thank you for reading!

It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.”
