Darwin's Regret

My mind has changed during the last twenty or thirty years... Now for many years I cannot endure to read a line of poetry� I have also almost lost any taste for pictures or music� My mind seems to have become a kind of machine for grinding general laws out of large collections of facts...

If I had to live my life again I would have made a rule to read some poetry and listen to some music at least once every week� The loss of these tastes is a loss of happiness, and may possibly be injurious to

Who is ? Simply the latest household name of the YouTube era. With one last week in a talent show on the other side of the Atlantic, Susan Boyle’s video  has become the in the history of the Internet. When last I checked, just one version had been viewed over 39 million times. In one week. Who are these people??

What Good Is Positivity?

For years I've investigated the value of positive emotions - those pleasing yet fleeting moments of joy, serenity, gratitude, amusement, and the like. In controlled laboratory experiments, I've measured the effects of these states on people's thinking styles. In field studies, I've cataloged their effects on people's skills, traits, and well-being. What I've learned is that positive emotions carry far more benefits than most of us suspected.
