The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

So, I was approached by the fabulous Jane Richardson to participate in this blog hop. Jane is a fabulous writer-literary and emotive.

We were to talk about upcoming books. I chose the book with the closest release date. Heart Murmurs will be coming from Astrea Press in March, 2012 and my agent is shopping another to New York, *looks at watch *very soon.

What is the working title of your book?

Where Bluebirds Fly

Where did the idea come from for the book?

I heard a program on NPR one day about synesthesia...and then had a trip to Salem, Ma. After working with people with differences every day, I shuddered, thinking what would've happened to them, had they been born to a time of superstition and witchcraft?

What genre does your book fall under?

Historical Romantic Suspense

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

James McAvoy and Bryce Dallas-Howard. No question lol.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

The Scarlet Letter meets Children of the Corn LOL. (knows Jane shakes her head ;)

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

THIS one, I am attempting self publishing for the first time.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

It honestly all runs together for me. The past few years are a blur of words and kids and work.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

Outlander? But wierder. Yes, I know that's presumptuous, but I honestly can't think of another.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

I'm always about the underdog. Go Sam. Go Frodo.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

Time travel. Not much published lately, but if done well, can be quite enjoyable.

For the next blog hop, check out another fab writer, MV Freeman-urban fantasy.

She also rocks. Seriously, she does.
