SOOOO HOT!

Hey Gang, I hope you are all finding ways to stay cool during this tooooo hot summer. As you know, I live in the south (unfortunately, not the beach...not yet) and the humidity is like, 1000%. Seriously, It was 85 degrees yesterday, but the humidity level made it feel like 108!! That's just crazy.

Anywho, I wanted to give you an update as to why I have been such a ghost for the past several months. I began feeling a little under the weather (pun totally intended...lol) last summer. Due to the fact I am so hard headed I refused to go to the doctor. By January I was getting worse, but still no doctor visit. By June I was so sick I couldn't get up and walk across the room. My family threw me into the car and took me to the local ER.

I wasn't there long before they came in and drew a few tubes of blood. twenty minutes later, in they came again and started an IV due to severe dehydration, took ten more tubes of blood (not exaggerating) and rushed me upstairs for a CT scan.

After all that, the doctor finally came back in and he had this sad smile on his face and scooted his little stool right next to my bed. (Okay, that's when I knew it couldn't be good.) This was his exact words:
Doctor: "Ms. Waldrop, we would like to admit you so we can run further tests."
Me: "Why?"
Doctor: "Your labs came back 'off.'"
Me: "What does that mean?"
(The whole time my husband is pacing the room, biting his fingernails to the knuckle...poor guy)
Doctor: "Well, let me be honest. I don't think you have Pancreatic Cancer, but I'm afraid you might."

Needless to say, EVERYTHING he said after that was not much more than a blur. All I could think was how I was going to die before I finished writing Ties to the Blood Moon's series. Isn't that crazy? lol.

They admitted me and began a whole series of tests. I won't bore you with the details, I'll just give you the outcome. NO CANCER!! YIPEE! However, I was diagnosed with diabetes, with blood sugars in the 500's. That's why I felt so sick.  My A1C was a 10 (should be below 4). And I have Gastritis. The doctor said the inside of my stomach looked like someone who had fallen on the sidewalk and skinned their knee. OUCH! Yeah. Not fun. Plus, as if those two things were not enough, they said I have fatty deposits in my liver. That's what happens when you eat too much red meat and too much fast food.

I spent several days in the hospital, but I'm home now and feeling like a new person. So, allow me to share my plans:

I have put my NA- Angel/Demon paranormal romance on hold while I rewrite book 1 of my Blood Moon series, Ties To The Blood Moon. I'm going to give it the overhaul it deserves and make it the book it should have been to begin with if I would NOT have ever let someone MIS-guide me.
Once I have finished with that, I will be writing the book you all have been waiting so patiently for...Book 4 of the Blood Moon series. Will it be the final book of the series? I seriously doubt it
