A Look Ahead at This Year's Big Fall Romances

Longtime readers can tell you that autumn romance books have their own vibe, as do winter romances. The good news is we’ve got them both collected here in our preview of love storiesto lookfor in the coming months.
The books below represent a sampling of buzzy reader picks, high-profile authors, and some special sneak peeks from the stacks. This time around, we’ve split the offerings into categories: contemporary, historical, and fantasy/paranormal. All the titles here are slated to publish between mid-August and late December.
Some spotlight items, in no particular order: Genre veteran Jennifer L. Armentrout has two books en route this season, the latest in her Flesh and Fire series and the dark romantasy Fall of Ruin and Wrath. In historical romance, look for new titles from Sarah MacLean (Knock Out) and Evie Dunmore (The Gentleman’s Gambit).
And we’re happy to report that the sports romance subgenre continues to thrive in the second half of the year: Caught Up, The Long Game, and Cleat Cute (tortured puns + sapphic soccer = hottt!). As always, it can be fun just to browse the virtual aisles in the romance section. We’re looking at you, Raiders of the Lost Heart.
Have fun, hover over the book cover images for more details about each title, and add any interesting leads to your Want to Read shelf.

Me too! I'm dying laughing over here because I just kept clicking and clicking saying "Don't mind if I do."

Sounds like a totally reasonable decision to me!

OMG I added almost every book to my TBR too!

That's unacceptable.

LMAO couldnt relate more

"Crimson" by Casey Morales. Set in the 1940s and planned as a series. The first book just came out. He's also written numerous other m/m romances.

The FountainPenDiva, Old school geek chick and lover of teddy bears wrote: "Some great picks but COME ON, where are the BIPoC queer romances??? It's late 2023 and you mean to tell me that ŷ couldn't find ANY?
That's unacceptable."
