I am looking for authors from Britain who write like Rosamune Pilcher, Alexandra Raife, Catherine Cookson, Maeve Binchey; stories set in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Can anyone give me names of authors so I can read more books like Drumveyn, Shell Seekers, etc.? I live in the middle of the U.S. so naturally emphasis here is more on American authors. Thanks! Lloyd You might try E. M. Delafield. She wrote several books about The Provincial Lady. Very interesting and wonderfully dry in humor, they tell of a life wâ€¦m´Ç°ù±ðYou might try E. M. Delafield. Delderfield, though these are not written from a women's point of view. Strong characters, big on descriptions of life. The Dreaming Avenue and The Avenue At War are two favorites. Loved the Horseman Came Riding By series as well.(less)

Question. Which of the chapters in the book is your favourite? I wrote an homage to Notes, retracing the journey, same hotels, same plates of food, same amount of time in the bath etc, 20 years after the fact.
