It is a retelling of the story of the Trojan War. However, it is also much more than that. First of all, it is surprisingly complete. All stories from the founding of Troy to its fall are told. Furthermore Stephen Fry does a good job of explaining the myths and makes some good critical notes (mostly in the footnotes). Furthermore not every retelling is just a retelling. Every story told only is as good as it's storyteller. And Stephen Fry is a really good storyteller.(less)
