really enjoying this so far ..it isn't anything like i was expecting and the sprinkling of photos throughout the book give it a real sense of reality. I just got to the part where they have got to Wales and i have no clue which way this story is going to take me so i am hooked!

i love a bit of zombie action!! Walking Dead season 3 has been put on some weird channel over here in England that i don't have so will have to wait for the box set :( I have to admit though that it's not the zombies i love in Walking Dead - it's Rick - the main policeman guy - yum yum lol
I also love Shaun of the Dead :)
My son is into
- he went to a book signing recently and all the staff in the shop were zombied up and playing the part - was great !

Hi Judy - welcome to the group and i hope you decide to stay :) The more the merrier!!

Lol...well i'm a New group so i'm hoping a few more people will join me soon ... You obviously found your way here so onwards and upwards! :)

Please feel free to hang around...i think its mainly just me here most of the time !
Dean wrote: "I pretty much lap up anything by Isaac Asimov, Agatha Christie or Chuck Palahniuk. So yeah...those types of books....hmmm."Well i know Agatha Christie but other than that in the dark ...l am trying lately to improve on my reading choices and maybe be a little more high brow - or intellectual you might say lol
Dean wrote: "I could go for a bit of this..."And that ;)

so i have jumped into this one feet first!! The language is abit foreign to me - but i guess it's like reading Shakespere - will get easier as i go along. i am only afew pages in but the book already has a very dark and mysterious feel to it. I do know the story from watching the film afew times so i am hoping this will help me in getting through the book and understanding it. I was feeling a bit smug with myself to be honest when i was sat in my staff canteen at lunchtime with 'Wuthering Heights' in hand - i got afew looks lol

i was thinking of doing a six monthly challenge of reading some classic lit stuff. I was thinking along the lines of Charlotte Bronte, Daphne Du Maurier, Dickens? i say 6 months because it takes me a while to read anything classic - i can be a bit of a dunce lol
I would really like to give Wuthering Heights a try so if anyone would like to read along with me let me know :)

I read this last month and just loved it - thought i would add as another monthly read so we have 2 on the go :)
Reaghan wrote: "Oh, books I cannot forget...Good in Bed, Jennifer Weiner, Murphy Lives Here, Merryl Polak, and the Help, Kathryn Stockett. All have stories and characters that I would literally dream about at nigh..."Hi Reaghan - nice to meet you and thanks for joining - not many of us yet but i'm hoping we will grow in numbers soon :) I havn't read any of your favourites although i have seen The Help film and fancy reading the book when i get a chance.
As for Life of Pi - i found the first part really long and hard to read but once it got into part 2 i was hooked :)

ok - i should probably say from the start that i'm not very good at writing reviews lol i don't really go into explainations of what a book is about just what i thought, or how it made me feel - if i liked it, loved it or occasionally hated it!
Hopefully some people will join our little group who do like writing great long reviews otherwise your just stuck with me :)
I finished our Monthly read this morning and will hold out on my thoughts until someone else has finished....just let me know :)
Tracy wrote: "You're also a member of Our Novel Escape, right Kate? I think we'll be doing a Buddy Read of the Outlander series sometime around May or June if you'd like to join us! :-)"I'll definately join in with that one then - I really like Our Novel Escape - at least one group that doesn't confuse me!

Being a Mum i find reading a great excuse to lose myself for a couple of hours ...recharge my batteris so to speak :)
Tracy wrote: "I LOVE Diana Gabaldon... the

Karen Marie Moning is another favorite... [bookcover:The Fever S..."Hi Tracy - i havn't read any of these so will add to my to read list :) i do remember the James Dean film "East of Eden"..he was so heavenly gorgeous in that!

I thought i would start a thread on books that you've read that have stayed with you - i suppose i mean favourite books but sometimes i read a book and for a while it's my 'favourite' but then in time i find i've forgotten it!
I have 3 books that i can;t forget though:
- i read bits from this book all the time!
- Kathy, Tommy and Ruth live with me every day!
- i havn't met anyone else who has read this book so hoping to on here - i will sing it's praises to everyone :)
I would love to hear other peoples choices and the reasons whay they love a book so much....

Hello :) First topic open for discussion - please say hello and introduce yourself!
i started this group because i found so many other groups too confusing to follow.
Please feel free to post a topic on anything you like! Looking forward to hearing what everyone is reading, what everyone is watching and anything else you want to talk about :)
I'm a Mum of 3 aged 15, 12 and 7 - all abit of a handful to be honest so this is to be my great escape!!
