Growing up in the Ozarks in a remote area I witnessed a number of hill folks that brewed corn whiskey. Old Art who lived down river from us got arrested so many times the Fed's hired him to make denatured brew as a tourist exhibit at Alley Springs State park in Missouri. I used to ride my bike to visit him once in a while and I could tell he loved his job. This was my backyard growing up on the Jacks Fork River in the Ozark Mountains. I did not know until later on that Life Magazine called Jack Fork one of the most scenic float and fishing streams in the world. Had I have know I would have bask in the glory more than I did. To Start On A Happy Note (BLUE HOLE) is FREE! It is VERY SCARY, however like all of my stories it ends well, except for those who got murdered. Blue Hole and the sequel River’s Edge are mystery suspense novels set in the Ozark Mountains that have received over (200) five star reviews. ★★★★★ ... In the second novel I aged brothers Dub and Tommy who were 12 and 15 in Blue Hole by 50 years and made them Grandfathers. They take their Grandsons back to Blue Hole where a murder occurred the last time they were there in 1949. The family becomes a young and old group of cold case detectives. The story is based on a tale my Grandfather told about a body found floating in a swimming hole in a remote area of the Ozark Mountains. The name Blue Hole comes from the sky blue color of a deep pool of water where a spring runs into the Jacks Fork river from the mouth of a cave. Jacks Fork was named one of the most scenic float and fishing streams in the world by Life Magazine. That's a question I kept asking myself when I was writing this story and like you if you read the book it suddenly becomes clear. OKAY, Climb aboard the motor home and get ready for a wild and frightening cross country trip with a dying and dangerous, psychotic old man who kidnaps and holds hostage a motley crew. (that would be my business partner and I) Wired with explosives, the old man creates a story that is BLOOD CURDLING HILARIOUS. REVIEWS: “Toe Tags & TNT by Rolland Love is NOT a book for the faint hearted. It is a strong, gutsy vivid rollicking tale about two young men and their adventures driving across America. The characters are well portrayed and one can almost smell the gun smoke and begin to sweat when the unwelcome hitchhiker Harley climbs on board their camper van. I wrote it because I get so tired and sometimes depressed about people with only half a brain making fun of and being prej·u·dice against people not like themselves. So, I made an attempt to explain to those witless wonders by Hillbillies are actually much smarter than them and have a better life. I make an attempt to show the difference between a Hillbilly and a Redneck, BIG difference indeed. In my attempt to educated the uneducated I enlisted a vocal by Van Morrison called "Stoned" and a You Tube video featuring James Carvel to help with my cause.
