This is a locked room mystery that I have heard about for years, but never read. The author is best known for The Phantom of the Opera. I enjoyed this quick read with an adequate translation.

I found this to be a fast-paced enjoyable mystery. Worth the effort of deciphering a different time and place to enjoy one of the classics of the field.
