I absolutely LOVED this book. I’m only upset that I hadn’t read it sooner. Before reading the book i thought it would mostly focus on the jersey turnpike accident but i was pleasantly surprised. All the background she provided us with from her early Life not only as a reader made me feel close to her. But also i feel like she did an amazing job of showing how racism had transformed over time. It was crazy reading how they continuously tried to railroad her in the court system.
