How do you write the "other world" scenes in the Walker Papers? Are they based on dreams or folktales or something else altogether?

I did a huge whacking amount of research about shamanism, then tried to take the commonalities and build a magic system/world from them. :) Similiarly with the Lower and Upper Worlds, both Irish and Native American; I read a lot and based the ideas of what these spaces looked like off the legends, folklore and traditions of the peoples whose heritage I was borrowing for these books. :)

I know you have said that the Negotiator trilogy was really stressful to write, but even so- do you think that you will be returning to that series any time soon? And also (is fitting two questions into one the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ form of wishing for more wishes...?) were you inspired by the Gargoyles cartoons for that trilogy or was it more of an after-the-fact association on your part?
