Thank you for your answer. I'm a clinical health psychologist, and am always interested in people's behavior, especially what motivates one to reach a goal. What I like especially about your answer is that you credit your mentor's advice. Collaboration strengthen's one's product in my experience. Do you agree? (The format demands a question mark.) Looking forward to reading more of your mysteries. PN

A.J. Devlin Hi Pamela,

My pleasure. And what an interesting profession you have!

I was very close with my mentor and even though he was my screenwriting professor, he was also the person who turned me onto mystery and crime novels as a way to learn how to better create complex characters and I quickly became hooked.

And I totally agree with regards to collaboration. I never learned more about the craft of writing than I did when in writers workshops or when my professor and I co-wrote screenplays together, and I will always be grateful for those incredible experiences.

Thanks so much and I hope you enjoy Cobra Clutch!

Best,

A.J.
