As a journalist, do you find the discipline from the profession helps with working on books, or do you find it can be a different approach, with trying to be concise in journalism but having to expand more in novel writing?

Lynne Stringer It certainly taught me how to edit well. :-) Yes, it does keep me concise, which is not to say I don't ever ramble, but when I'm reading back over something it helps me spot repetition or rambling more easily.
