Was I expecting to get icy and spicy? Yes. Checked that box. Was I expecting to laugh super hard? Nope. Was I also expecting to REALLY like Georgie and Vektal's relationship? No, and it was a big pleasant surprise!

Listen, I'm not even a taboo romance person and I'm telling you to pick up this book. Be careful, it's taboo, and it's dark. Rafael is the epitome of a red flag man, but you know what? I was on board.
As I said to my friends and family as I was reading---HEAR. ME. OUT.
It straddles the line between dubcon and noncon, but Nenia does such a good job writing these characters that I was doing gold-medal mental gymnastics to make the romance work. The mystery had me by the throat and would not let me go. Every. Single. Detail. mattered and became relevant later. Nenia was also really clever in placing reviews of the FMC's movies or reviews of the MMC's books between the chapters that sneakily gave you plot relevant information and provided excellent transitions.
The craft was excellent and the spice was spicing. If you like your romance dark and twisty, this is the book for you. If you like a great whodunit, this is the book for you. I had SO MUCH FUN and I can't wait to read more of Nenia Campbell's books!...more

Good for lovers of all things French, Angel's Kiss is *vibes* for a bit and then the plot shows up to smack you right back in the face. Raoul's suffering is palpable. Buquet gets what's coming to him (I pronounce his name "bucket" because I'm the most annoying version of yeehaw) and the TWIST at the end? It has me grabbing my opera glasses and getting comfy in Box 5 ready for the final installment in the trilogy....more
