For me, it really provoked a lot of thinking and engaged my mind throughout the entire first half into Problema II. The reason I ended up going 5 stars instead of 4 was because 1) I thought some of the wording and quotes (perhaps it’s just translation) was eloquent as well as 2) I found myself excited to pick it up and read more.
If you’re a stickler against ‘faith� and theology, you might read it contentiously but it is what it is. Most philosophers have religious inclinations....more

In modern society, the majority of the population are in middle and lower classes and have a view of good vs evil. The mass view those in power as a danger and the scapegoat to their suffering. I believe Nietzsche argues this is an oversimplification and rather those in power are there due to their instinctive will to power (natural urge for growth and leadership). He also explores the belief that suffering or pain is inevitable and an important experience for those to overcome. By overcoming such discomfort, one can be molded into a greater individual. Overall, the book explores the concepts of morality, virtue, suffering and more. Well worth reading for anyone who has an open mind and interest in those subjects...more
