So since this is technically an ARC I am reviewing it as such.
Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this advanced reader copy. This honest review was based off my experience reading this eARC, which in no way biased me. All opinions are my own.
I loved the characters and the overall plot, but I had some issues with the pacing and the “conflict resolution.
The magic system and Selvyn being a half human, half demon hybrid called a Cambion; I loved that, I hope we get more information on the magic and the different types and how it works. What other species of supernatural creatures live there?
My main issues with this book is that, this book has the potential to be much bigger than the novella size. I think that making this just a novella, requires that everything move faster but even this was a bit too much. I believe from the start of the book to right before the time jump in the epilogue, it all takes place in a matter of a handful of days. We don’t get exact confirmation but it seems as if it’s about 3-5 days total. Their lust for each other and their actual feelings are not the issue, unless you don’t like insta love, then it might be an issue.
The bigger issue is that Selvyn has had this amount of guilt, self-inflicted penance, etc. for DECADES, and he gets over it like the flip of a switch. There’s very little thought process about it, he goes from, “I’m leaving her, to “I’m staying in all of a matter of pages.
All in all an enjoyable read. I am rating it a solid 3.5 stars, rounding up for GoodReads. ...more

If you know me you know I am a HUGE Brynne Weaver fan, I found A Shadow in the Reaping just a month after Brynne self published it last year. I was IMMEDIATELY hooked, I’ve still never read an Urban Fantasy that made me laugh so much. Even with that ending (WHICH RUDE, but damn it was good), I patiently waited for A Heart of Bitter Poison that released this past January, (which I also had the chance to ARC read) and bestie raised the bar. Now we are here, at the end of the series and I am both happy and sad, how Brynne continues to raise the bar with this series I will never know, but I loved the ride.
My ass decided it was a good idea to reread A Shadow in the Reaping, and A Heart of Bitter Poison before I got this ARC, don’t get me wrong, it was a good idea. I am just extra emotional seeing it all back to back to back. Seeing the evolution of Brynne’s writing, and the character arcs is just *chef’s kiss*.
I’m happy we get another book of Lushen and the gang, but I’m sad that this is the end of the series. This book picks up IMMEDIATELY after Poison ends, AS IT SHOULD WITH THAT ENDING (not as shocking as book 1 but still). This book continues with the whole series being literally laugh out loud funny. Lu and Ashen’s banter is still going, if not even MORE, and I love that for them.
The cast of characters is impeccable, they’re all amazing and I love all of them. So they all get their own books right Brynne? Just kidding. Unless ...more

Oh boy what can I say about this book, this might be shaping up to be one of my favorite dark fantasy series, period. AND WHY IS IT WHEN I LOVE A BOOK I CANNOT FORM THE SENTENCES TO EXPRESS MY LOVE FOR IT.
We’ve got A LOT of things going for this book
- elemental magic - royalty - political intrigue - A CROCK POT ON LOW FOR 8 HOURS LEVEL OF SLOW BURN, (like I went feral over eye contact) - angst - the mutual pining that is oh so delicious due to the dual POV - excellent banter - idiots also liars in love - enemies to lovers (you know the kind that might want to kill each other because they are prince and princess of enemy kingdoms) - a forced marriage of convenience, also magically bound ...more

Lillian Lark does it AGAIN. Nobody is shocked, least of all me. Lillian has a way of writing that not only makes her books immediately a “feel good book, but also somehow manages to make you invested in the story and the characters even when they’re novellas.
Be sure to look at the content warning the author provides before chapter 1. Just double check that the content included is your jam, or could be your jam.
When I saw this ARC drop in my email I IMMEDIATELY knew what I was reading as soon as I finished my current read.
Like I said, I have no idea how she does it but I was quickly hooked on Belinda and Jack, their unique “I have a problem “I am a problem solver situation? I loved it. This gave lowkey Beauty and the Beast and Eros and Psyche vibes, AND I ATE IT UP.
If you want a quick, feel good, smutty read between a cursed wolf shifter and a witch, you’ve gotta pick this up. PLUS THERE ARE CAMEOS. YOU’VE GOTTA SEE WHO....more

I had a great time with this, the plot was good, predictable, but good. Nothing about this book shocked me, but it definitely grabbed and held on to my attention for the entirety of it.
I will say there is cheating in this book, obviously the FMC is cheated on by her boyfriend and it’s active on page. But bestie gets the better end of the deal anyway.
Here’s hoping Stevie, Asmo, and Kas get a FMF/FFM book because I LOVED THEM. Please tell me we get more of them?

OH BOY. I RAN TO MY KINDLE TO READ THIS AS SOON AS I SAW THE ARC DROP IN MY EMAIL.
Blood Moon delivered what it promised and I LOVE IT. I think I love this more than Titan, (sorry Titan still love you tho)
First of all you’ve got some 80 year old vampire (thank you Jillian for not making him like hundreds of years old) and a tall/plus sized witch. I was expecting the plot to be the smut, but I’m pleasantly surprised that this is not the case. There is a plot happening, you know they have to be RIVALS for a reason. Anyway, I loved that Vlad was the classic vampire, pale skin, dark hair, fully turns into a bat, super speed, AND CAN HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS WITH YOUR BLOOD IN HIS SYSTEM. I loved the different kinds of witch powers, I can’t wait to get more info about them. Hazel is a witch who’s “medium aka the powers she’s best at is potion making so OF COURSE SHE’S AN AMAZING BARTENDER. I can only say one coherent thought about the smut, *chef kiss* Jillian, you’ve out done yourself, and chapter 9 had my jaw dropping.
I only have one non complaint, is I wish we had more about them, but I get it, its a novella.
ANYWAY, I had a great time with this and I will for sure be reading anything Jillian writes....more

FOUND FAMILY TROPE FOR THE WIN, no but I am serious this is one of the best uses of this trope I have ever read.
We stan grumpy dilf-ish librarian Jamie, what can I say he’s a sweetheart under the tough exterior.
Mika is baby and I will protect her from anything.
For a person who usually doesn’t like children as like main-ish characters, this was very enjoyable.
IAN AND KEN, honestly so iconic, love them so much.
I swear this book had some really hilarious scenes, but also scenes that brought tears to my eyes. Both Mika and Jamie have really bad childhoods for vastly different reasons....more

I have to praise Miranda I have never read an urban fantasy quite like this. The magic system is very interesting. It builds on Daisy’s modern witchcraft with her spells, tarot cards, crystals, manifestation, etc. and has the urban fantasy style of magic.
I’m going to be honest. I have finished both books in this duet there are some things that I enjoyed, and some things that needed some work in my opinion.
Things I liked: - I mentioned it earlier, the magic system is very interesting and probably my favorite part of this duet. - The Male main characters/love interests were so different and I loved seeing how they interacted with each other and Daisy. - The smut we always know Miranda delivers. - The last third of this book is the best part in both books.
Things that could have been better: - there were some word choices that I tried very hard to ignore or get past but I couldn’t. - I wasn’t a fan of the FMC character. Her POVs were very difficult to get past. - Some other elements that I want avoid spoilers for. - Things happen to the FMC and she accepts it no questions asked, which would be fine if she wasn’t questioning things prior to the events happening, but Daisy was questioning so much and then accepts things blindly. -The pacing - Development -Yes all my questions from book 1 were answered but it was “told to the reader not “shown to the reader. - The FMC would be mad (with reasoning) at the MMCs/MLIs on one page, and then they would have made up the next page. It felt like whiplash to read.
In the end this was a 3 star read as a book, and a 2.5 read as a duet. I had an ok time. I probably will not reread it....more

Did I receive this ARC yesterday? Yes.
Did I start and finish it today? Also yes.
What can I say I had a great time and work got in the way if not I would have finished it like way sooner.
Things I loved about this book: -Titan. No need to elaborate, once you read this you’ll know why. -The dual pov REALLY made this book really good. I can’t imagine this NOT being dual pov. -The Monster smut I MEAN ROMANCE. tbh both the smut and the romance are both big pluses in my book. -The chemistry between Julianna and Titan was palpable from the beginning. -The intro to the world/magic. I’m very excited to see more about this series. -I loved the side characters, the witches, Titan’s brother’s. I think I got some hints of potential ships AND IM HERE FOR THEM.
Things that could have been better: -The conflict between Titan and Julianna -There were moments in the monologues (especially Julianna’s pov chapters) where I found the inner monologue frustrating. -some of the plot points felt predictable or I was just paying attention really well.
Anyway, I had a great time reading this book 4.5 stars. I’m very excited to keep reading more of Jillian’s work. *cough cough* especially SOMEONE’S Primal Gargoyle Romance.
The series title, Sex Wizards, intrigued me. What else can I say.
A kink/sex based magic system? Sign me the hell up.

I will have to say this book pleasantly surprised me. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I had a great time and found myself very invested in the story and in the characters.
I also love that this author did something I’ve never seen before. They include the trigger/content warnings for each chapter right at the beginning of the chapter.
I love that this book is full of queer characters. And they all seem to be good at being the dominant (caster) or the submissive (conduit), I love chaotic switches.
This book also probably includes the most variety of kinks in a single book I’ve ever read. It’s very sex positive. It was very enjoyable.
This was my first book by this author, but won’t be my last. I’m VERY interested in seeing where this series continues. 4.5 stars....more

I was entertained enough to keep reading, but I was waiting to become more invested in the plot. This is a witches/magic story and I eat that up, so of course I was going to enjoy this. I love Lilly and Jake, and June.
The side characters were amazing, and I thought the premise was interesting, but it fell a bit flat. Like for example, it took me quite a bit of time to realize the Coven isn’t in the same realm as the human realm.
I do wish these characters were aged up, I think that would solve some of my frustrations with them being 18 and Gracie/Jasmine’s mentality/inner monologue. Gracie was just so hot and cold with this whole thing (and many things overall really), which is understandable to a certain degree, but when she is mad one second and then not mad the other, and then the cycle is repeated, its a bit jarring.
I would have liked to see more of the witch realm’s world building and more explanation of the magic system, the different types of witches/magic, and more on Gracie/Jasmine’s magic.
Overall this was ok, my final rating was 2.75 stars rounded up to a 3. It will be interesting to see where the rest of this trilogy goes....more
