Maybe I'll try this author again in the future. ...more

That isn't completely fair to say though as Saylor does do some scary and impressive things, they just don't feel like it because of how out of it she usually is.
But, it is Jillian West, so even though the duet has dark moments it is still an easy and fun read. ...more

I tried, I really, really tried. This was recommended to me by one of the teens at the library, so I wanted to like it. It is ridiculous and sometimes I can get into it, but for some reason it just didn't hit me right here. I wasn't the biggest fan of the characters either. It feels soooo awkward. Like things got better once they wrote up the contract, but the way people talked and when was so, so weird. It also feels like they are beating a dead horse at this point not completely trusting each other. I think this wouldn't be so bad if it was a slower burn -- like if I was at 20% not over a third of the way in!
Also, his sister asking him if he found Sadie hot and if he was planning on doing anything about it right after her sister's funeral (which he and his sister attended mind you!) was just so, so fucking weird. It's like the first time he admits even to himself she's pretty its just... weird. Yes, this is where the romance bit is starting... and I'm not feeling it. His attraction is going from 0 to 70% in a manner of weird and emotional days. So unfortunately, I'm done.
If you like fun characters and friend groups though this might be worth reading. The guys were great. ...more
