** spoiler alert ** Book 2 of 3

💜Attempted rape of FML (not in harem)
💜 Cade and Finn are with OW during separation

This book is much darker then the first, it kinda threw me off with how different it was.

Book 1 ends with Eden ‘dying and returning to her time. She now has to figure out how the mirror works and get back to her men. She figures it out thanks to a letter from her Aunt. When she lands back in time, it is now like 100 years later (can’t remember exact time) in 1775 and in Virginia.

After the guys think Eden dies, they all go about grieving in their own way. Luca gets lost in his art and gets very emotionless and unattached, Sebastian works on keeping them all together, Finn and Cade sleep with like a 100’s(literally) of OW to get over the loss.

Their reunion is not what Eden thought it was going to be. Luca doesn’t want anything to do with her and is downright hurtful to her. He rubs it in her face that Cade and Finn slept with many women. Which honestly would hurt me too. Here I am fighting and trying to get back to my ‘mates, while they are screwing around. But they thought she died so they don’t have any reason to feel like they were wrong.

Surprising Sebastian in this for the most part was very sweet and really showed her how much he cared. Finn and Cade were the same with her like in the first book. It was Luca that had a complete personality change. Which kind of pissed me off because in the first book when Sebastian was fighting his feeling for Eden because she was human and would eventually die, Luca told him to suck it up and love her because the pain of losing her would suck, but their love would be worth it. Ok, you’re kind of being a hypocrite Luca as you ‘hate her for leaving and all that. Eden sees the pain she has caused them and promised that she wouldn’t come back when she died again, no matter if it were to be that day or 80 years later.

Anyway, this is were it turns dark. After a couple of red coats attack Eden and attempt to rape her, the guys decide to leave the village and go away to keep Eden safe and away from the war that will be starting. On the day they are about to leave, more red coats show up and Eden ends up dying. Right before she dies, Luca compels her to come back to him. This sets off a series of events where she keeps coming back to them and getting sicker and sicker as she does. Luca completely loses his mind after she dies in his arms when he compels her. Finn and Cade into their wolves and hide away from life. Sebastian is again trying to keep them all together but the wolves run and stay away, that is until she comes back the first time after dying (the second time). Sebastian, Cade and Finn all think she is losing her mind because of the mirror, but they don’t know it was because Luca compelled her. It gets to the point where they (minus Luca) are resentful of her and are just waiting for her to wither away and not come back again. She doesn’t eat, sleep or drink so she slowly wastes away to nothing because they won’t let her near Luca, who she is compelled to be beside.

Eden is able to break the cycle to save them all the heartbreak. This book was definitely depressing with not many happy moments at all. The next one is supposed to be much better and there will be a HEA.
