Why does this cover looks so--80's?

The cover isn't even how Lena was described in the first few chapters of the book. But I assume that authors have less control over the cover of the book than we expect them to have. It does look totally 80s though.

Yeah, it really doesn't...and I assume that as well it's probably under the company's control. :/
