Introductions!

Time to make a drive-by posting... my to-do list is bigger than my to-read stack, which is REALLY impressive.
Welcome to all the new people! I'm glad to see so many new faces in the group!
Welcome to all the new people! I'm glad to see so many new faces in the group!

Name's Gina Robichaud (nee Laroche). French-Canadian, my dad is from Quebec and my mom from Ontario. Her parents actually came over after WW2 from Italy, so that makes me a 'frop'. And I'm not ashamed of it either.
I was a bookaholic since I learned to read. I adored the mystery genre, soaking up every Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books I could find. After exhausting all of those (including Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, The Babysitters' Club and Sweet Valley High), I had turned to Christopher Pike and R.L. Stine, and fell in love with the genre. From there, it escalated to snagging all of my mom's Danielle Steel, Stephen King, VC Andrews and Sidney Sheldon, before I came upon Nora Roberts (my all-time fave author). My bookaholism has sored since. While my ŷ shelves aren't completely up-to-date, my Shelfari pretty much is, and it's telling me I have over 800 books. Which would mean that, since I learned to read, if I add all of the books I've read, I'm well over the 2,000 mark. Just damn hard to remember what I read back then, LOL! My fave genre now is paranormal, but I still love a good mystery or romantic suspence or thriller. I never leave home without a book. If I accidentally forget it, I feel lost during my lunch hour or coffee breaks ~ I feel like I have nothing to do! And that's no joke! When reading, if you want my attention, say my name. Otherwise, I've no idea that you're talking to me. Your voice becomes background noise that I shut out ~ don't mean to, just happens that way. If the book is really good and I'm super into it, I'll laugh my butt off if it's funny, and I'll ball my head off if something's really sad. So, it's okay, you can say it. Gin, you're a nut. Yes, I know. No argument from me.
I'm 31 (since March '08), married (since July 1st, 2000) with two kids: daughter-7 and son-6 (they're 16 months apart). Besides books, I grew up around the quarter-mile drag strip and still drool over a hot muscle car and hot rod. With that said, I can tell you that I'm the Accounts Manager/Office Manager for my family's auto repair business. We specialize in manufacturing rebuilt engines, high performance parts and general repairs on domestic cars and trucks (and I'll stop there before I start sounding like a freaking commercial, LOL!) I'm a tomboy at heart, can swear like a sailor (what do you expect - I'm surrounded by male mechanics!). You'll see me in jeans, either a cowboy hat or a ballcap on my head most days, very rarely wear make-up. Dresses, skirts and make up are reserved for special occasions like weddings and Hollowe'en (snicker!)
I'm also a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Go Leafs Go!
In a nutshell, that's me.

I have been raiding the posts here for reading recommendations for a while. I went through a paranormal phase in my late teens, early 20's but it was revived again recently by the Twilight series which i bought for my 13 yo daughter then read myself in four days.
I am 36, live in a small town in Australia with my husband and 4 children aged 4, 5, 7 and 13 and read as much as possible in between two part time jobs, commitees and the usual chaos of my day.
I rely on the library, since money is tight, and in a country town that doesnt give me a lot of choices so I am currently trying to persuade them to beef up their paranormal section. I read alot and I read fast and read most anything though do have preferences and go through phases.
I am so glad I found goodreads as its a fab way to see what is out there though its frustrating to live in Australia where book prices are extortionate and its not always easy to get your hands on books.
Anyway - glad to have found the group :)

Book pass? Now that sounds fascinating. What a wonderful accomplishment to get it back five years later with all those signatures from around the world. Kudos to you for such a brilliant idea!

Sorry-You should be able to friend me. I've received requests before. I'll check and make sure I didn't change some weird setting.
You should just be able to do a search for the kindle smut group. That is really what it is called. Go check it out though, there are some fun people there.

I'm Lauren and i'm 17. I got introduced to PNR via an excerpt of Lover Avenged in Cosmo. I read the excerpt, thought it sounded good, checked it out of the library, and the rest as they say is history. Now i can't get enough of PNR. My favorite to date PNR authors are J.R. Ward and Sherrilyn Kenyon. I'm homeschooled, and thanks to that, i can devote basically as much time as i want to reading.

Hi, I'm Frances. I'm 24 (soon to be 25 April 29), and I'm a Navy wife. I've been into PNR for awhile now. Ever since I started reading the Queen Betsy series. Which btw, I read before I ever read Twilight, lol!! I'm into vampires, faeries, angels & werewolves.

I love this series I am reading one a week. What will I do when it's done. I guess I will have to ask you.
I have Fallen on the back burner. But I don't know if I can go to dark and sad after this series. I guess I will worry about later.

So...hi.
I'm Gaijinmama, from both coasts of the US but living permanently in Tokyo where we have not one but two fabulous used bookstores that trade English paperbacks! Which means I have no excuse for my ginormous Amazon bill and the teetering stacks of books all over the house.
Thanks for enabling my addiction1 The whole PNR genre is a fairly new obsession. I've loved Diana Gabaldon and Anne Rice for ages, and am always open to any other good historical/ fantasy/vampires/ red hot whoopee-making love scenes...

I'm Rheanne; I've been lurking around here, reading posts for a while and decided it was time to introduce myself. I'm a 28 year old wife and stay at home mother of three beautiful chilren, ages 6,4, and 11 months. I'm also a writer, currently working on my second YA fantasy/romance novel. I've always been an avid reader and highly protective of my books. I don't mind sharing, but if I really enjoy a book or series I tend to read it multiple times, so I prefer to own my books rather than going to the library. (which by the way is very expensive and drives my husband crazy... hehe) I jumped on the PNR and YA bandwagon a few years ago after reading one to many depressing "adult" novels by authors who took them WAY to seriously. I started off hesitantly with Twilight and was instantly hooked. I read 2 or 3 books a week and am in love with Eric Northman and Sheridan Wade. I'm currently moving quickly through the Black Dagger Brotherhood and the Dark Hunters series.

Gaijinmama, I love Diana Gabaldon too! I've read/listened to her books about 3 times through.

hi I see you are like me and view books as brain candy. I think if someone woould have told me I would be a book addict I would have laughed. Yet hear I am reading 1 book a week sometimes ok 2 weeks. I loved twilight too. But have since moved on to many other PNR books. They are like lays potatoe chips I can't just have 1. Any way I have all my books next to my bed in my stair case in my basement. Recently I started lending them out.

Gore, violence, humor, luv......etc. What do you like to read.

I love my paranormal books, and I have L.a. Banks, Karen Chance, Dorina not Cassie. (I'm sorry but Cassie is annoying.)I like Sherrylin Kenyon, Jeanine Frost, Patrica Briggs, Linda Howard, Hannah Howell, and Rachel Vincent. (Many More)

I thought twilight was boring!~!~And not that exciting ans insterting! Yee
What like of books do you like?
P.s i love writing!~!~~!!"
I read the PC AST Divine books and the Goddess series Not really into horror I like some humor but not campy. I love the banter between charcacters and lately I preder a series. Have you tried Charlene Harris or MAry Janice Davidson?

PC AST books are good but I have a feeling you would like Charlene Harris she wrote theSookie Stackhouse series Trublood. Try it on Amazon It has mix of all of it.
The Marked series is good too. PCCAST and her daughter wote the series together.
Let me know if you like them

I'm a huge book reader and paranormal is one of my favorite genres.
Off the top of my head some of my favorite authors are Meljean Brook, Patricia Briggs, Nalini Singh, and Gena Showalter.

Hi Amanda Welcome. What are reading now?

My name is Courtney. I'm a 22-year-old, happily married, Vet Tech who cannot get enough of PNR! I keep waiting to get bored and get interested in another genre but it just isn't happening! :D The hubby and I have been married for 4 years as of the 25th of this month and he loves that I read PNR because, as he puts it, he "doesn't have to do a thing and he still reaps the benefits". ;)
I'm glad there is a group for people like me. I don't feel so lonely in this massive world of a genre! :)

Hi Courtney I think what you read changes over time. I agree PNR is fun, in many ways. I am thrilled to find so many people who feel the same. I loved what you said @ your husband I agree!

I'm Susan or LadyMissSusan around the web. I currently live in Smallville Kansas. Ok it's not REALLY called Smallville but might as well be. I've been the sole caregiver to my 96 yr old gma for the last 4+ years and reading has been a great escape for me. I can't seem to get enough! Of course the Twilight books started my devouring of YA PNR books. I'd forgotten how much I love to lose myself in a good book. Many of you have mentioned some of my fav's of late: Vampire Academy series, Evernight series, Mortal Instruments series, Hunger games series, Sookie series. Yeah I'm a series book whore as well! Look forward to hearing about what you are all reading.

It's great to have a place to talk to others about books you like and characters you love.
I spend a lot of time reading...I am a full time student and a single mother of three boys I don't have time to go out to bars, and honestly it's way too costly in just daycare to go out in the town.
so I sit back and a enjoy a good book, depending on what's going on around or how involved in the book I get I can read and entire book in a 24 period. My reading range is usually a 400 page book within 6 hours.

Soooo hello everyone it's a pleasure;o)
