Hi, all. :) I'm Aza. I'm that one nerdy fangirl, who's lowkey a huge romantic, but not in the traditional way. I read a lot of paranormal romance, but I don't know where to find recommendations! So I looked through goodreads groups, and found this one. :)
I read Lora Leigh, Christine Feehan, G.A. Aiken, and Suzanne Wright mainly. Lots of dominant males, basically. xD

I'm Danis. I live in the Pacific Northwest of the US. Mid 40's. Workaholic. I read and hike for downtime. I read about 3 - 5 books a week. A combination horror/mystery/suspense/paranormal. I hate nonfiction.
Thanks for adding me.

I joined mostly to see what other readers of those types of books are reading, hopefully to get some recommendations because I'm having a hard time finding books that appeal to me. (One of the reasons I keep writing my own.) While I love Ilona Andrews (her Hidden Legacy series is one of my favorites), I'm tired of first-person stories, especially those featuring a snarky, independent heroine. Not that I don't like first-person stories or can't appreciate snarky, independent heroines, but they all start to sound the same after a while.
I'll probably stick to reading digest emails of discussions, but I wanted to introduce myself.

Hi Ilona I absolutely love kick-ass females who don't need saving but are sometimes nice enough to let the guys play hero, too.
Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh and T. A write some awesome heroines who fit the bill. I'd love to swap lists.

right now I'm currently reading city of bones. a few of my favourite books are the house of night novels, immortal series, Salem lot, misery, and the dark tower series by Stephen King.

My name is Carla!! I read A LOT of paranormal and fantasy novels as my regular reading material but I do like to change it it up sometime.
Currently I am reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and it is flipping amazing. I am so excited to have found this group and am happy am able to be apart of it!!
I can't wait to see what new books I am going to discover and what discussions will happen!! :)

My name is Elizabeth Holt (there are a few of us here I am afraid) but I joined just yesterday. Corey and I released out first novel in May and are busy on Book II.

I LOVE fantasy romance books with my fav being 'Angel Over My Shoulder' by Pepper Pace and for a more epic story 'Lilly' by Tiya Rayne.
Have a look at my read list and if we have books in common then feel free to add me as a friend.
Open to more book recommendations as well.

My name is Jen (will answer to Jennifer - do not call me Jenny). I have been an avid reader all of my life. I am located in Indiana and am an older adult.
I fell in love with Paranormal Romance back in the 1990's. I fell in love with Urban Fantasy just a few years later. In ~2016, I discovered Reverse Harem - and that has become my main genre.... but even in Reverse Harem, I prefer those in the UF / PNR subgenre's.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Also: Pamela, I wanted to talk to you about something - could you send me a message? I did not see a way to do so on your profile.

I love reading and finding new adventures in books to travel to. I've always wanted to be part of like a book club so thought why not join a group on ŷ perhaps make a friend or 2 that is also book lovers

I write reviews on ŷ, sometimes review ARCs, and post on my Bookstagram under the same handle as my ŷ!
I look so much forward to getting to know you all better!

I like reading anything as long as it holds my interest and gets my juices going in the reading department.
I found you by just looking at the popular groups on here and thought I'd jump on.
Any other questions you would like to know about me, just shout me xx

I grew up on anime back before it was widely socially acceptable, watching Inu Yasha and Fushigi Yuugi and Sailor Moon. (I even used to write Inu Yasha fanfics decades ago, ahaha). I liked comics so much that I got a degree in Sequential Art (Comics & Storyboarding), with a minor in Creative Writing.
Favorite authors are too many to count, and change almost weekly?
Ilona Andrews always tops the list; I just like the way they write a lot.
Kresley Cole I love for her batsh*t insane main characters.
Jim Butcher... I just really love how he can bring me along, slowly building the story until, sure, it makes sense that someone's riding a zombie dinosaur in an epic battle.
Jennifer Estep, Jessie Mihalik, Kim Harrison... I'v enjoyed them all (though I need to do re-reads of basically everything).
I just published my first book, which is how I found this group (I was looking for groups to self-promo in) and I'm sad that I've missed out on ŷ groups until now. I was always just reading books on my own and maybe talking to friends I could convince to read the same books about it. ;_; Like it didn't even occur to me to seek out communities online??
Anyway, nice to meet you all!

I really love The Hollows series by Kim Harrison and the Jane Yellowrock novels by Faith Hunter. I got into urban fantasy after reading the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong and the Mercy Thompson books by Patricia Briggs. I love books that focus on female leads primarily.

Keep writing paranormal romance! It's one of the funnest genre's around.

Don't ever stop writing! Your audience will find you, you just have to let them.

Trying to get back into reading, after a few year hiatus, as I enter my second half century.
I used to love China Mieville, Iain M Banks and Neil Gaiman in this group’s genres. Looking to try more romance and I’ve always had a fascination for vampires.
Recommendations welcome 🤗

If you'd like to know more about me, please read my Interests and About Me sections on my profile page.
Add me as a friend if you'd like.

I'm Mary from Northern Ireland, U.K. and I want to make new book friends. I like most genres but favourites are fiction and thriller. Add me I'll add back 💕📖

My name is Venus and I'm from California, United States. Over the past year, I've linked my goodreads account to my kindle and have slowly entered all of the books I've read! I love all types of book genres including paranormal/historical/fantasy/contemporary romance, horror, adventure, and classics as well! I have been a fanfic writer for ten years mainly focusing on Attack on Titan (my favorite anime of all time!!) I'm also in the early stages of developing my first book, but due to Uni, I can't prioritize it like I want to! My favorite author at the moment is Opal Reyne. When I'm not reading or writing, I spent time rewatching animes like kamisama kiss and fruits basket as well as hanging out with my cat! It's nice to meet you all :))

Just joined this group and trying to catch up :)
I'm Arielle, an author and SAHM in Los Angeles. I recently published my first memoir! Very excited about that!
When I'm not reading and writing... I like to bake, hike, workout, go to see live music, spend time with my friends, family and dogs and travel.
I have been on a real autobiography kick these last few years (for obv reasons lol), but have been returning to my love of magical realism, classic fiction and looking to try out some less familiar genres like fantasy and romance!!
Excited to be part of this group. It looks like a lot of fun!

Arielle,
Don't fight your desire to write a Paranormal Romance or Urban Fantasy book. They are fun to write and everyone loves them!
