Louise (wopsywoo) | 44 comments Welcome Adam! We do not judge or discriminate here. I'm an eclectic reader myself. You're right about society being messed up. Don't give up reading what you love. I used to get bullied at school for being a bigger bird than what "society" deemed was right but now I don't give a fluff. Read what you want. Look how you wanna look. Makes no difference to me. That's the great thing about books and reading. Takes you away from reality and I love that. Happy Reading Adam and Merry Christmas :-)

Peridot_Lyoness | 29 comments Hi Adam! Good to have you. I'm glad you found us- one of the things I appreciate about being a reader is that books can bring us to incredible places and allow us to imagine a different reality. I've always liked fantasy, and given my age, I should not be enjoying it as much as I do, but alas! To quote Louise over there, who gives a fluff? I absolutely love Cassie Clare's books- have you checked her new series yet? It's in the same vein as her MI, but different characters.

I must agree with you- love needs to be nurtured, and what people feel at first sight is lust, not love (nothing wrong with that, I ain't judging). Have fun with us and hope you find new authors and new adventures. Happy Christmas!

That's exactly it. It's a really, really good book. I think it won its category as book of the year, if I'm not mistaken. She has a customer for life with me!!!

Nikki Landis (nikkilandis) | 11 comments Hello everyone!

I'm a romance author, primarily in the paranormal, fantasy, urban fantasy, and dystopian genres. I'm an avid reader too. I joined this group hoping to connect with others who like to read and enjoy the same genres. Feel free to friend me on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.

Just one question: do we have a monthly book read in this group? I didn't see a topic for it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Nikki Landis

Sydnei | 3 comments Hello,

I'm Sydnei. I'm an east coast girl. I've known about good reads for years, but had no idea the depth of it. I'm glad I decided to investigate it and make a profile. I love being able to interact with other readers, who love books as much as I do!

I'm finishing a business degree as we speak. After that, I'm going straight into a BA in English & Creative Writing with a concentration in Fiction. I plan to be a successful author one day. I dream for the day when all of you can read and review my books!

I love new adult fiction , young adult fiction, paranormal, urban fantasy, and other genres along those lines.

Feel free to send me a friend request & a book recommendation!

Grace (gracereadssmut) Hi! I just found this group! Wow, I have no idea how I have missed this.

I love a good werewolf/shifter books :) The only thing is that I've been off track with my paranormal romance's since I am so over one of the Hero/ Heroine being human. I've love a book where both H/h are werewolves, shifters, vampires. Also! I have yet to find a good book about female witches. Maybe this group can help! :)

Hi Grace! Good to have you. Have you read Larissa Ione's Demonica series? I recommend it, it's amazing. Regarding female witches? Besides the Sookie Stackhouse series, I'm not familiar any other.

Thanks for the reply! Yea, I like reading about paranormal worlds, so why do authors want to put humans in there? haha!

Hi! No, I have not read that series, I'll check it out. Also, Is Sookie Stackhouse the one true Blood was based off? If so, I was so not into that show, so the books may not fair better in my eyes.

Jayde (tirnlis) | 3 comments Hello, my name is Jayde! I'm so glad that I have found this site and that I am getting the opportunity to meet so many new people and find many new and amazing books. A little about me is:
I am a pescatarian who enjoys reading, acting/theatre, animals, and music. My favorite genres of stories are urban fantasy, paranormal, manga, and comics. I do write my own stories now and then but I always have new ideas and never can focus on one story.
I am pleased I have the pleasure to meet such wonderful people!

Iryna Andriyevska (iryna_andriyevska) | 1 comments Here is my book:

It's a story of love, family, tragedy full of philosophy and emotions. I promise this is something totally new. You've never read anything like this.

I understand, that it is not that easy to buy a book almost without any reviews. So, if you want to read it, just mail me at [email protected] and I will send you a free sample.

I would really appreciate any reviews left here and on Amazon.

Hope to be heard.

Thanks,
Iryna

So now I love reading urban fantasy and dystopia. My favourite so far is Angelfall. Absolutely loved it!!!! Would love to find another book as amazing.

Currently reading Obsidian and enjoying so far.

I like suspense and romance, but I am a HUGE fan of the Addams Family movie...especially the first one. Gomez and Morticia have this rapport that is just amazing. Much better than many other romances and they're interesting as individuals, too. I'd like to see more stories with that underlying deep romance.

Too many times it seems like there are only two people in the room, who aren't hooked up and they think...we should get together....in romances, in general, not just paranormal.

Anyway, I am looking for more stories with that strong romance that makes you believe these people would find each other in a room full of single people. Full disclosure, I am a writer, but I enjoy reading other people's stories, too.

Joel Crofoot | 18 comments Hi! My name is Joel. I'm a therapist by day, writer by night. I like all things paranormal, mostly the usual vampires, shifters, etc. I write angel/demon romance and blog about psychology using my characters as vignettes. I also try to promote other paranormal authors as often as I can on my social media pages so I post free pnr books at least twice a week.

Currently I live in Los Angeles, but I've spent 4 years in Japan, did 2 combat tours in Iraq, about a year in Florida, and grew up in northern New York. Aside from writing, I like running and playing with my dogs.

Nice to meet you all!

Hi April!

Thank you! Right now I'm working on book 4 in my series (A Series of Angels) because book 3 with the editor. I'm also sort of working on a memoir of one my deployments because people keep asking for it, but that one hits closer to home so it is taking longer.

My favorite writers include the PNR greats like J.R. Ward, Elizabeth Hunter, Kresley Cole, Charlene Hartnady, Alisa Woods, A.J. Tipton, Tina Folsom, Laurann Dohner, and Jessie Donovan.

I also like Fantasy like S.M. Boyce, Brandon Sanderson, and Patrick Rothfuss.

What about you?

Thank you for your service. Just looked at your bio. My son, a senior in high school, graduates in June and just swore into the Corps. I'm quite proud of him. He's going the officer route and wants to be a pilot. He scored high on his ASVAB. He leaves for basic on August 14th to Parris Island. Happy to meet you.

Hi Nikki!
Thank you for finding me on social media! As soon as I figure how to add you as a friend on goodreads I will. I wanted to think that if I could disarm bombs I could figure this out, but apparently this is kicking my butt. :-) We'll get it eventually!

That is great for your son! How are you feeling about it? The officer route is a Great choice all around - more pay, better quality of life, better networking post service, etc. Good call!

Nikki Landis (nikkilandis) | 11 comments Joel,

I liked your Facebook and followed your Twitter as I am sure you have noticed. :)

There's no option for me to follow or friend you on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ so perhaps it has something to do with your settings? I'm afraid I am not much help there.

I'm super excited for my son. He's doing amazing, loves being a poolee, and he's making great strides in preparation. He runs a lot but at 6'3" and 150 lb. he's tall and lean. He needs to build some muscle in his upper body so we are working on the dreaded pullups. I'm nervous as heck and hope I don't cry like a baby on August 14th. So damn proud I can't hardly stand it, Lol. Basic, 13 weeks of no contact, is going to be hard but I'm confident that he will succeed. :)

If he is preparing physically now, he will be fine. To be honest, in basic he just has to keep up with people who have done nothing but sit on the couch and play video games their whole lives. Plus he is smart so the DIs will like him. Basic will be easier for him than it will be for many others. Officer candidate school is a completely different ball game though, that is where he will want to shine.
Its such a sharp and sudden separation for parents that I feel for any mother. That has to be such a difficult phase of life, and the only way out of it is through it. It sounds like you are well aware of what you are in for and ready to handle it though. Let me know if I can help.

I am Jennifer Rhae and I am new to the GoodReads family. I love to write romance. Right now, I am writing a Paranormal Romance with shifters (werewolves) vampires and witches.
I am also new to self publishing, and I am slowly, but surely working my way toward having the first book in my trilogy out sometime this spring :)
There can never be enough coffee or time to write!

I'm honestly not sure if I ever introduced myself to the group, so my apologies if I'm repeating myself.

I'm J.L. Guzior, author of the Cedar Creek Wolf Series. I recently self published the first novella of my four part saga. I'm super excited to be part of Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and I've been enjoying myself as I get to know other book readers and writers. I could use some friends on here, so please add me. I love most genres, but I'm always looking for a nice, sexy paranormal romance, or any book that will make me laugh out loud.
