She saw Josie, who had the locker beside her, staring down at a note in her hands, and snatched it from her...
"What's this? Casper leave a love note for you?" she said in a snarky tone.
Sophie walked up to Josie. "Hey, you okay?" She looked down and saw the note. "Oh gosh, honey. I'm so sorry"
"Okay, just let me know if you need any help," she said as she hugged her friend

"Like anyone would write a weirdo like you a love letter..."
Jane tried to hide her smile as she saw Sophie approach, "Morning, Deason."
"G'morning, Blackwell" she said to Jane

She sidestepped the girl to get in between her and Sophie, and pinned Sophie against the locker, "but I bet Deason here gets plenty of them. Don't you, Deason?"
She ran one long index finger down a strand of Sophie's hair.

"I guess I'll grace physics with my presence... see you twerps later."
She walks away empty-handed.
Sophie hugs Josie back. "Yeah. Are you?"
"Okay, we'll I'm fine." She turns to watch Jane walk away. "What is her deal anyway?"
"Thank you, I guess we should try to ignore her if we can"

The students around her aren't even whispering about how much trouble she's in anymore; too common an occurrance, she guessed. She'd have to do something later to get them riled up again, but not today. Not Monday. Jane hated Mondays...
She made a mental note to leave Josie another note for calling her 'Jane' that morning. Two in the period of a day was sure to get something going in this boring godforsaken town.
"Yeah, why do we have to so this very single day?" she sighed.
"Yeah, probably." says Sophie as they walk toward the locker rooms.
"Come on Josie, just try to ignore them." Sophie said to her best friend
Ugh, those jerks, Sophie thought as she changed. Don't they have anything better to do?

Sophie got back up as she glared at the other girls and extended a hand to help Josie up.
"I never thought I would say this, but thank god for the coach." she said to Josie

"Yeah, same here" Sophie nods knowingly.
"Of course! Can you?" says Sophie as she shoots off.
"You wanna try to beat this?" asks Sophie as she lands a front handspring and goes back to running.
"I'm not gonna try to beat that one right now, we'd better focus on running so Coach doesn't get mad."

The bell rings --
"Finally," Jane groaned...
The students don't even wait for their teacher to give the word. They picked up their supplies and chatters amongst one another. Jane overheard that Nikki, one of the 'in-crowd,' had planted the note in Josie's locker. Inwardly, she applauded her... but nobody messed with her twerps.
Jane eagerly raced to choir class to score a seat next to the two.
"Hopefully Mr. Bogner is teaching today," said Sophie as she and Josie walked to choir.

"Scoot over," she told Josie, trying to squeeze between her and Sophie. She shot Sophie a smile, "Hey Deason, did you miss me?"
"Of course I did," Sophie sad sarcastically.

Sophie shoves Jane. "NEVER mess with my friends"

Jane stumbled a little, but lands on her feet. She smiles, "Heh, I knew you wanted to touch me."

Bogner scolded, "Blackwell, Pickard, one more word out of either of you and it's straight to the office!"

Jane pulled her lip into a pout, "Aww, I'm hurt. We're friends, aren't we, twerp?" - she may have teased and bullied Josie and Sophie, but truthfully they were the only people who treated her the same way after she came out, and Jane was thankful for that.
"Why would we be friends with you? You bully us constantly" Sophie says to Jane

The comments hurt more than Jane lets on. She has no answers; she just smiles and laughs. The same way she reacts to every obstacle and problem she faces. Sometimes, it's the only way she can get through the day. Even if it's an illusion, she clutches the two of them like dearest friends.
It's time to sing.
