Welcome / Member Introductions

I mostly read mysteries, historical fiction, and classics; however, about a year ago when I joined GoodReads, I started trying to read more widely. Toward that goal, I am trying to read books from the Guardian's list of 1000 Novels Everyone Should Read:

I love lots of types of books, and am looking forward to being a member of the group.
Hi everyone! I'm Heather, junior doctor in Hull, UK. I enjoy books, talking about books and thinking about books. In my spare time from work my other interests are running, cycling and going to the pub!
hallo!!!!!
So happy to welcome the first two members!
Alexandra and Susan, we hope you'll feel at home with us. Just stroll around and see what we think, tell us what you think, and what we could do to improve things here.

Since you like classics, what do you think of coming along with me in my reading the last novel of Dickens?

Hi everyone, nice to be here. For anyone who doesn't know me, my name is Alannah I'm a university student currently studying English and History. I can't wait to get stuck in, I like that you've kept the challenges and the book lists so I can transfer them over.

I'm a retired (sight problems) deputy head teacher, married, always had lots of pets including a manic border collie, cats, guinea pigs en masse....very varied reading tastes so I love to hear about any new to me.

Thanks Jean, and welcome!!

Welcome Charbel, good to have you in the group!

Welcome Jo. I suspect that, at least in part, we all judge books by their covers.
And sometimes it can be a big mistake!!!!
