message 81: by ⚜️ݴ (new)

⚜️ݴ the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) Hey, Joyce! This is my first time picking for you, so I hope you find something you like out of your picks!

1. Costumes: Morrigan's Cross by Nora Roberts from your TBR, Born in Fire by Nora Roberts (One of my favorite Irish Nora Roberts books!) or Q-In-Law by Peter David (This one may seem off the wall to you, but I went through your Read shelf and saw some other Trek novels. This one is an absolute HOOT to read! If it was a Next Generation episode, the premise would be: Q comes to the ship to study Romance, Love, and Marriage. His chosen subject? Lwaxana Troi! Let the "fun" commence!)

2. Overindulgence: Strange Candy by Laurell K. Hamilton from your TBR (Not sure if she's your Favorite author, but you've rated a few of hers with 5 star ratings! (P.S. I love her Merry Gentry series too!) or Too Close to Home by Lynette Eason (She's not one of my absolute favorites, but I do pick up every book I see her come out with. It is Christian Romantic Suspense, though, just as a heads up.)

3. Parties & Parades: The Nerd Who Loved Me by Vicki Lewis Thompson or Karma Girl by Jennifer Estep. I noticed you really enjoyed the Elemental Assassin books you had read of hers, but my favorite series of hers is the Bigtime series, so I try to nudge folks toward those books too!

4. Rowdy, Out of Control, Pushing Boundaries Behavior: A Charmed Death by Madelyn Alt (I've read a couple of hers a long time ago, I should re-visit them!) or Love Amid The Ashes by Mesu Andrews (This is Christian fiction, based on a Biblical story. It does have some elements of romance but the focus is more on the retelling of the biblical story. I think I remember seeing some Christian fiction in your Read shelf...)

Hi! We didn't have many books in common, so I hope you like your picks. If you need some others let me know.

1. Costumes From your TBR, Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin which has a very cool cover. Or I think you would like Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder which Yelena becomes a poison tester when her other choice was execution. Learning about it with her is really interesting.

Masque of the Red Death (Masque of the Red Death, #1) by Bethany Griffin Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder

2. Overindulgence Callum & Harper by Fisher Amelie is by one of your favorites. Or give one of my favorites a try. A great YA UF series starts with Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep as gifted teenagers have to save the world from Loki and his Chaos bringers. Or a great contemporary romance from Jennifer Crusie - Bet Me. This has a group of friends finding love and learning about themselves while eating lots of great sounding Italian food.

Callum & Harper (Sleepless, #1) by Fisher Amelie Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy, #1) by Jennifer Estep Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie

3. Parties and Parades Fools' Gold by Philippa Gregory sounds interesting and taking place during Carnival in Venice is certainly a party. Or check out Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey turned out to have a lot more depth than I expected.

Fools' Gold (Order of Darkness, #3) by Philippa Gregory Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side (Jessica, #1) by Beth Fantaskey

4. Rowdy, Out of Control, Pushing Boundaries Behavior I like another series by Ann Aguirre, so give Enclave on your TBR a try. For something different is an oldie fantasy book - The Mirror of Her Dreams by Stephen R. Donaldson. Terisa is starting to doubt her existence when she is pulled through her mirror to a new world and expected to save the kingdom.

Enclave (Razorland, #1) by Ann Aguirre The Mirror of Her Dreams by Stephen R. Donaldson

message 96: by MountainKat, Moderator (last edited Feb 22, 2014 10:30PM) (new)

MountainKat | 30301 comments Hi Victoria, here are your picks. I hope you can find something you like, it not let me know.

1. Costumes: It says on your profile that you like historical romance so since I was looking for books set in Europe I couldn't resist picking something by Sarah MacLean, an author you've yet to try. So maybe you will pick either Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake or A Rogue by Any Other Name - I loved them both! From your shelves I found Touch & Geaux by Abigail Roux. You loved the earlier books on the series, so have I - maybe you should give this a try! Or maybe Shock & Awe instead?

2. Overindulgence: It looks like you have been reading a lot of Sherrilyn Kenyon lately and loving it. I'm not sure what book is next for you in the Dark Hunter series, maybe Retribution? If not, read whichever is next for you. A series I had to be talked into reading at first is J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood - I don't regret reading that first book one little bit! I think you might like it too. It starts with Dark Lover, think about giving it is try!

3. Parties & Parades: I have two (other) new series you might want to try. The first is Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed beginning with Kiss of Midnight. It's not my favorite in the series but it is a great series! The second is Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series and it is great fun. The first book I read was A Hunger Like No Other, but GR and other places list The Warlord Wants Forever as #1 - either way. From your shelves, it looks like you have enjoyed Richelle Mead's books, maybe you would like her her Georgina Kincaid series a shot starting with Succubus Blues.

4. Rowdy, Out of Control, Pushing Boundaries Behavior: The oldest book on your to read shelf is The Princess Bride. I haven't read it, but I adored the movie!! Some new suggestions include Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione - great series! Or maybe you want to give the Featured Author at try this month. Flat-Out Sexy by Erin McCarthy is one of my favorites! I loved the way he loved her! Or maybe her Vegas Vampires series - High Stakes. It was cute, but I like the other series better.

Fingers crossed you like at least one of them!

1. Costumes:
New: A Little Bit Country (This started as a little short for LHNB event in the MM Romance group. That was great but I loved the novel.)
TBR: Wicked as They Come

A Little Bit Country by S.J. Frost Wicked as They Come (Blud, #1) by Delilah S. Dawson

Overindulgence
New: A Marked Man (I love Sandy's book, they're light-hearted fun, essentially my own guilty pleasure.)
TBR: Calculated in Death (I figure J.D. Robb counts since you've read a number of her books and this is #32 I think. ;))

A Marked Man (Assassin/Shifter, #1) by Sandrine Gasq-Dion Calculated in Death (In Death, #36) by J.D. Robb

Parties & Parades
New: Nightkeepers (Love this series!)
TBR: Enraptured

Nightkeepers (Nightkeepers, #1) by Jessica Andersen Enraptured (Eternal Guardians, #4) by Elisabeth Naughton

Rowdy, Out of Control, Pushing Boundaries Behavior
New: Yakuza Pride (Darker story, but I loved the culture references here. Figured it would be something really different for you.)
TBR: Archangel's Kiss

Yakuza Pride by H.J. Brues Archangel's Kiss (Guild Hunter, #2) by Nalini Singh

Have fun reading!
